Help please - has anyone got a set of the standard carbon backed folding buckets - 1st image below , if so , I wonder if you could please help me . I am about to go to spec lock down on a Boxster Spyder and I need to see if my child's booster seat fits in the buckets - I have ordered the standard (not the 918) carbon backed folding buckets , as I have been instructed by she who must be obeyed that the seats have to be heated. I know the booster seat fits (just) in the 918 buckets , so I am hoping that it will be ok in the folding buckets , however from memory , they are slightly smaller than the 918 buckets . If anyone can be bothered , I would really appreciate it if you would take two measurements : positioning as indicated by the images (on a 918 bucket) below . One small issue is that the last image keeps loading upside down - both measurements are for the bum , NOT the back part of the seat (if anyone can rotate the last image I'd be grateful) .I know this is a pain and I would completely understand if you ignored this request - but if you can be arsed , I'd really appreciate it as its lock down D day tomorrow , cheers .

Upside down image - bum part - NOT back upright - thanks .

Sorry, can't help with measurements but I had the same issue when I had these seats in my GT3 and 987 Spyder. I tried various 'booster' seats but none would fit. The folding sports buckets are quite snug. I would be surprised if you can find a booster to fit tbh.

My GT4 is coming with the 918 type buckets - which booster seat have you found fit these please smile

It's a "Trunkie" back back pack that turns into a booster seat - it's really good , we bought it for that holiday taxi run from the airport to the resort - but it fits the 918 seats perfectly ! It's really good for big kids (obviously not for babies) - my daughters 7 & is nearly out if booster seats - I just want something to boost her up a bit as the buckets are so low .

There is a Porsche infant/child seat that is available. This one definitely fits all GT3/4 bucket seats.

I have the folding buckets in a 991 GT3 and at at the points (I think) are in your pics they are around 305-310mm where the seat base meets the back and closer to 325mm at the first stitch line in the seat base.

DT398 - you are a gent and a scholar - thank you very , very much .

OK : the bottom line is that the measurements are identical on both bucket seat types (at these points) - you heard it here first.

And on that bombshell ........ case closed smile

(P.S thanks to all who posted)

Are the carbon folding buckets heated now? I have them in my 997 Turbo and they were never heated before.

Yep you can add to the buckets as an additional option - this first happened with the 991 GT3 (think first few cars missed the option) However , serious warning though : the extra weight of the heated seats ruins the driving experience smile

RSVP - you are welcome. I have read many comments that the 918 seats feel wider than the folding buckets but I have never sat in them. The fixed buckets in the CGT are definitely a bit tighter than the folding ones. Booster seats are generally a challenge in any of the bucket seats. They will be old enough to go without before you know it!

Yep very depressing frown

I have used both buckets and I struggle to tell the difference - maybe the folding ones are a tad tighter in the back support area - I find both incredibly comfortable - once you've had them there's no going back IMHO - thanks again , it was really good of you to take the time out to do this ,

Cheers R smile

They're really clever - obviously less safe than a proper seat , but in truth they are both nearly out of the car seat phase , so it's more of a height adjustment thing really - not long now driving

my 918 style feel wider than my folding style, I would measure for you both but my folding buckets (or the car they are in) are not stored at my house atm)

Thanks for the offer , appreciate it , but I think I'm sorted now . Thinking about this , I think you're probably right the 918 buckets maybe bigger around the shoulders - I love both , I think the 918's are a tad more comfortable , but both are very easy on the back smile
