991 GT3 Prices

Porsche wouldn't want to upset the current RS buyers by making a 991.2 GT3 that was comparable to it.
Don't think this holds much water...... simply because Porsche developed the 991 GT3 to be 'better' than the admittedly fantastic 997 RS. I would tend to agree with those who think a 991.2 GT3 is 'likely'. However, securing one could well be a problem for many especially post Boltongate.
Couple of reports suggesting the 'gen2' could make an appearance at Geneva...that would be a surprise must say. I guess in reality apart from the front and rear light arrangement and new infotainment system there is just a few tweaks here and there to the intakes and spoiler etc. The engine and whether it will be offered with a manual is going to be what most people are interested in I suppose.

Fully agree with the last sentence above. I know that at least one OPC has stopped the LoI system and instead will directly contact those customers that have expressed an interest in the 991.2 GT3. In reality, this doesn't sound too different to the old system as I'm not sure the LoI was worth the paper it was written on anyway, but still, it looks like the decision on who gets what will be made in the smoke filled backrooms in future. What do you mean in future - that's exactly what happens now gt3 prices at opc's are increasing, they are selling, rs's at 100K over are also selling, the .2 gt3 whether true or not is not having any effect at this moment in time, there are not enough of these cars to go around. The economy is not having any effect in dampening peoples appetite, roll on spring can't wait to see all these cars at the track and the meets.

Pal of mine just sold his high spec comfort 2k 64 plate 1 owner for £130k retail independent.
Regarding the impact of any gen2 on gen 1 prices, the 'facelift' is still potentially c2 years from delivery but any 'improvements' are likely to be minimal cosmetic and small power increase together with perhaps a possibility of no cost 'manuel' option. Gen 1 prices should hold firm until mid summer then soften with the usual seasonal dip and show further softening into 2017 as owners trade out of their cars and approaching the 4 year warranty expiry on the earlier cars. This could potentially be the best time to buy a gen 1at 'sensible ' money, whatever that may be...:

No lift - £2k - Used 1 lip spoiler cost £100 to replace.
No leather - £2k - did this spoil the enjoyment - NO!
No club sport / buckets-£2k - been there done that, this car was an everyday hack, didn't miss the buckets one bit - wife loved the comfort seats.
No chrono £1k - hideous carbuncle on the dash that has no real function.
No PCM - didn't get lost once in 17k miles!!
High miles - yep, damn right I used the car every day and what a laugh they all were.
No heated seats - heated seats?????? what are you a girl!.
OK, some SA is going to say it doesn't need these features to sell, but it doesn't look very appealing to me. Well it was probably the best Porsche I have ever owned (to date) and I had shedfulls of fun and sold it for more than I paid for it - enough said.

Hey look I didn't mean to offend you, its just that you seem to jump on every thread or post that even slightly dares to paint the 991 GT3 in a negative light.
Offended me? Confused me, more like! How is it mentioning the 991 GT3 in a good, bad or indifferent light?
I simply commented that there are very few facts concerning the 991.2 GT3 and a massive amount of rumours.
Not sure you can credibly deny otherwise...
