I think 991 G3 prices are pretty stable at the moment and have been for a few months. The height of the madness was end of March last year when a few CS cars changed hands at £170k. It went very quiet after that and cars stuck around and were reduced in price, but they don't seem to have moved much of late and there are less (good spec) cars available. It's always the same, decent club sport spec cars will sell well and comfort cars take a bit more effort. If you want a bonkers PDK track car that does 95% of what the RS does in most people's hands, what else could you get for the money?

I think the RS is completely over-cooked and should be about £50k-£60k more than a regular 991GT3 but I can't find a seller that agrees with me!

Question to you (more knowledgeable) GT3 types. Do you feel Porsche will one day move to turbos with future GT3 / GT3 RS's?

I was pondering this thought and came to a conclusion that if they ever did with the next car after the 991 then the 991 (both .1 &.2) would be one of those significant end of era / great cars...

There have been some people (allegedly with inside knowledge) claiming that there won't be a generation 2 991 GT3 and others claiming there is bound to be (confirmed by their dealer) as "this has always been the case".

I think it's fair to say that the world has moved on a lot since previous iterations and fuel economy / emissions are a lot more important than they used to be, hence the rest of the 911 range going Turbo. Further, the debacle with GT3 and GT3 RS engines and the substantial delay this caused might well mean we don't see a generation 2 version and the next GT3 is introduced as part of the next 911 model.

If all of the range is going to be turbocharged then I'm not sure that there is a need for a GT3, particularly if there is already a sporty, rear wheel drive GT2 model, unless the GT3 is re-focussed to become a cheaper, stripped down alternative to the base model rather than aligned towards the top of the range, as currently.

Didn't the moniker used to refer to something to do with motorsport once upon a time? scratchchin

Well the current engine is being used in motor racing, isn't it?

Will the future GT3 class have turbo charged engines?

It's good news that the engine has finally made it into the motorsport arena but it's early days and the unit needs 1000's of racing hours and probably more development before it is proven.

Nice to see it racing though

New 991.2 GT3 will be in production for early 2017. Poss as a 2017MY but close to a 2018MY production (June-onwards). GT2 will be the back end of the year potentially early 2018 and the swan song for the current 991 era. New gen and model will be a 2019MY for sure.

That's a fairly accurate prediction, although the new Cayenne is slightly earlier than that.
I heard that by mid-2017 the Macan will be the oldest model in the range.

I suspect when the cars start getting closer to their 3 year warranty expiring, there'll be some drop in prices
Given the issues with the engines, you'd be brave man to own one of them without a solid warranty in place
I appreciate they appear to have sorted it, but even so....

looks late on the 911R as that is released this month to the people in the know and the car will be shown in March.

So one would expect unless you have the no buckets available issue that cars should be out late summer this year.

where is the GT4 RS :-) ?

Many have a 4-year warranty with can easily be extended, just as many people did for the beloved Mezger...

I suspect that many cars will be purchased through the OPC network so come with the standard 2 year used vehicle warranty.

PCCB's - not clubsport - £24k of extras including adaptive sports seats and lift...

£24k of extras and no buckets means basically ticking every box!

Certainly seems like it - I think the adaptive seats are quite pricey aswell.
It won't be everyone's cup of tea, but it make for a really good road car.

Quoted for posterity. I'm not saying you are wrong by the way, other than I have heard 911R in July of this year.
