If I remember correctly, he bought the last 993 off the production line, it seems that one is not for sale.I do fully understand is reasoning, after all, the 993 C2 manual coupe in its most natural form is by far the finest Porsche in the world.
I may be a little bias though
"Jerry had this to say about the sale,
"Honestly, if I had unlimited time, space and attention span I would never sell one of them. And the reason I wanted to bid these cars farewell in this way is really just to see the look of excitement on the faces of the next owners who I know will be out of their minds with joy that they are going to get to experience them"
So what's the real story then, divorce?

He may just be selling at what he thinks is the top of the market?
No, he has 80 odd cars and all of these he has one (or two) 'better' examples. Even guys like Seinfeld can say "enough is enough". I have seen three of them and they are amazing, though a few 'could be betters' in the descriptions regarding matching engines etc. This is a very rarified market with it almost impossible for a highly tuned 4-cam racing engine to have made it to 60 years or so. Not to mention accidents etc. The green 356 Speedster 4-cam is to die for. Jerry Seinfeld is without doubt the last bloke in the world who needs to sell for financial reasons- Seinfeld made him the richest entertainer in the world with about $800m - he still rakes in about 20 odd million a year.....
He could afford to buy a new 911 every time he leaves the house in the same manner that we'd buy a pint of milk!

collectors enjoy reshuffling
it gives them, or their garage managers, something to do, otherwise it's just a static bunch of cars that nobody drives, so boring.
there's also some showing off to do here too. Because once you have infinite money, they only cache is in the super rare or unobtainable. "Look what I bought 10 years ago!" Bought in secret and now rolled out for the public.
Art/Bottles of Claret/Elvis' Underpants/Moon Rock etc etc
There's a certain boredom in $1billion dollars if you aren't hunting for something (or your minions are) and then selling your collection.
He'll probably announce that he's bought a 250SWB with the proceeds
or done an Elon Musk...
