Sub-human scum. Dread to think what I'd do if I got caught up in such a situation and wasn't getting my face stamped on

it sounds like there were 4 of them an one victim. SO if it were me I would have, lay on the floor crying while they kicked my head in....sad but true unless you are a real badass chuck norriss david haye Quinton "Rampage" Jackson then that is what's going to happen.

we need more sting operations where the crims mug unsuspecting sccoterist and then are surrounded by Ray winston in the the sweeney types who give them a kicking before taking them away.

Or maybe we need to understand young peoples problems....(load of crap that argument if you ask me but I am not a youth worker)

Filmed on a pole mounted potato

Seriously though, I think if somebody was going to attempt to mug me unarmed for my bike I would stand my ground and have a dust up. If there was a knife or weapon present they could have it without challenge. No piece of plastic and metal is worth getting stabbed/shot for

I deal with this activity around the building I manage on a frequent basis, they are organised and have a strategy in place and do it that often that they can easily pounce at a moments notice and will not be bothered if there are bystanders. I've stood within 2 meters of them whilst they check cycle locks on public bike racks and they asked me what I was doing!

There is a higher order in play managing them too, as I have seen them being dropped off in cars by older men and there is a cycle to the areas they target, so the same "yoofs" that are targeting Southwark one week are up in Camden or the West End the next. Once they are caught there is a new group waiting to take their place, all fed by the school leavers/dropouts from the under privileged estates around inner London.

Its all about gearing up for bigger crimes, such as robbing jewellery stores, with ride/cycle-by mobile phone and handbag thefts mixed in.

I've assisted with the MET with this and it rarely appears to work as they are very aware of themselves being traced and followed by the Police.

Slightly connected but I just started a thread re some yoofs being chased near mine today resulting in one dead teen and other seriously injured. Met saying chase occurred after smash and grab robbery.

I saw this on crime watch last night and he was set upon without chance to hand over keys for bike,in fact they gave him a couple of boots and a head stamp after he dropped bike little pricks
