I was at my local dealership this week and I asked my sales guy any news on new GT4 allocations being awarded to intended customers who has formally requested a allocation. His response was encouraging, he mentioned that the initial allocations have already been catered for and there is still 6 months before they know for definite no more GT4's for their customers. So from this it would appear there may still be be a small chance of a GT4 after all. (I submitted my LOI over a year ago).

He did not want to raise any false expectations, however this does sound encouraging and my be some truth behind it?

Has any UK member received a recent communication that there allocation will be fulfilled after all and they had previously lost nearly all hope of a allocation being fulfilled?

I understand that all final allocations for production up until July had been allocated and deposits were being handed back for those unsuccessful.

I don't believe he car will be produced past July and so I would be surprised if an OPC is still holding out for further allocations, unless VW/Porsche have determined there is more capacity on the Osnabrück production line than previously thought. I guess there may be a few extra gaps in production.

That's said, I got my allocation just before Christmas and my car will be built in late June for a July delivery. Don't hold your breath for more allocations, but good luck either way.

+1. I know a guy who was down for allocation this year. Just heard no chance and given his deposit back.

Surely there must be a definitive answer to this form the dealers. Rather than mixed messages from one dealer to the next. Or do some like holding on to their customer's deposits longer than others...

+1 although my opc did seemingly get s larger than most allocation initially . They have no idea when/if they will be getting more

+1. My OPC thinks all cars have been accounted for and deposits have been returned.

Yep. Ask for your deposit back. I really think its bad when an OPC hangs onto deposits when they know that all allocations have been sold. i guess they are hoping that either Porsche may announce more releases (unlikely) but more likely they are hoping you will switch your deposit to a CGTS.

Porsche Cambridge wanted me to place a deposit on a 981 Spyder when they knew all allocations have been sold. Told them nicely to fook off & found another OPC who had a cancelled order.

Then you've been told very wrong information, although technically every car is one of the last.

they told you it was a cancelled order, but I bet it was just more cars and a load more came up as normal like magic.

A lot of OPC's only took a few names for the Spyder, so when a load more came up you could be late to the party and secure one.

cancelled orders don't ring true on cars which fetch overs and hard to get.

May be. But I managed to secure one a week before Christmas! I was not only late to the party but frigen missed all the fuss. Coming in that late I would have thought more likely to be a cancelled order. But heh, I'll never know. Can't say Iam that bothered tbh.

Not necessarily true. In circumstances where a dealer suspect a car is going to be flipped they will rescind and offer a car to another customer and refer to the car as a cancelled order, they don't necessarily need to state which party cancelled!

How many dealers actually do that? And how would they know that the person will flipp? I'm sure most dealers just want to sell and be done, unless they want to screw you over and give your allocation to someone else more rich and famous?

haha, for what, being late to the party and falling out with dealers? I think the action should be against you for criticising everyone's colour choices except white, yet they are the ones enjoying them, not you! I was a late comer, had no problems securing a GT4 with effort and potentially something else.
