Well it looks clean but I don't personally like guards red. It has standard not sports seats, non-standard steering wheel (although a nice one) and looks a little low at the rear wheels.

I certainly wouldn't pay £70k for it, but it is period and all the items mentioned are easily rectified, apart from the seats.

Worth noting JZM sold one with 4000 miles more for 74k GBP a week or so ago and Avantgarde want 85k GBP for their very nice silver 3.2 Carrera which is also time warp but 40-50k miles. I'm astonished that they seem to be selling like hot cakes for genuine cars. Someone knows something we obviously don't.

A similar, but no doubt higher mileage car at £45k. That £25k saving would make a nice fund and you'd be more inclined to drive it. Which is the reason most of us are here.

Hairpin do seem to get some nice 911s, and that one does look like the quintessential 3.2 Carrera of the '80s era.

Agree, though, that if I was buying at that level, I'd want the gorgeous Sport seats. And, not sure I'd want the weedy complex aircon that they fitted in those days. I'd open the window and savour the lovely aircooled flat-six.

Irrespective of what the market does in the coming future, I do think we will see a big separation in prices between the genuine, low mileage, original, aircooled cars and the run of the mill higher mileage examples

Really cool video and 3.2 lot of passion and individual taste gone into it,sits well and sounds well..As far as pricing with above posts no such thing as a cheap Porsche now, even less sort after models are becoming expensive.

Had all my under trays off my wife's 8 year old 997 to check for an air con leak last month. Found a few mud traps but otherwise looked like it left the factory - rusty fasteners aside. And it is used on some very muddy roads / tracks.
Same could not be said of my 05 GT3 which, at just 5 years, was showing surface rust. They are not under sealed in the same way and I am not the only one to have found early signs of trouble. If you have a GT3 well worth sealing with Dintrol or equiv.

I remember a few years back one of the Porsche mags were shocked at the state of the brake lines on a 996, they basically fell apart as they removed them ......... Important parts like that would be my personal biggest worry (this side of an engine failure) on the water-cooled cars.

^^^^ Thought long and hard about that one. Did you not consider it too?

Heres a lovely old modded higher mileage targa for more money than a concourse ultra low miles original G50 coupe. You wonder which asylum the vendor has been let loose from.

I agree. And I think that's sensible money for one in today's markets where a decently specced Golf R is in the same ballpark
