Son has a 1986 one with approx 150k miles.

It probably needs about £1k spending on the paintwork and engine to bring it to good condition and he's thinking of selling.

Toying with buying it as a company car for everyday use.

Are they ok for everyday driving?

Yep. A lot easier to run than some other contemporary cars. Do a search on 928 or mail me. I have a 1984 928 S2 Manual and a 1990 928 GT... Beware though, they are like a disease - once you get the 928 Bug, there is no cure...

Love the outside but it's an auto and I'd prefer manual for this type of car.

Looks pretty nice though generally.

Just need to check out the car benefit situation unless I buy it privately and charge mileage etc.

Good car, I owned one for over 6 years and used it every day.

Mine was a manual S4.
Smooth torquey drive.
Just rememeber whatever you have to pay in running it pails into absolute insignificance compared to depreciation of a modern conformist contemporary snooze mobile. THAT's the midset to be in when you get quoted expensive parts prices for things such as clutches, ignition system components or cooling system hardware.

I think 928's are fantastic cars. The big V8, non dating styling, and even the auto box seem to suit them....
