I'm covered with nfu. The car was over 75k & no tracker was needed - strange indeed.

PEC car had this and instructor didn't seem to think it an issue. But one reason I didn't want ceramics.

Found big stones in the air scoops though!
Instructor didn't think it was an issue as it wasn't his hard earned that paid for the car.

I drove my GT4 over 300 miles today.Hadn't used it properly in a while and was reminded what a wonderful car it is.The 918 seats, aside from being works of art,are the best seats in any road car I have ever owned, and the brakes are so immense.Regardless of spec it's just such a fun little car.I guess the engine lacks a bit of drama vs the GT3 (not driven the RS) but then the gearbox kind of makes up for it.If Porsche do manage to marry up a new manual 'box with a normally aspirated engine in the next GT3 then it promises to be some car.Personally I'm glad to see Porsche are making many more of these than was initially expected. The more people who get to have fun in and experience a GT4 the better...

I could almost copy that post word for word.had mine in storage for 6 weeks ,picked it up yesterday and did 240 miles.Car is so much fun, struggling to think of anything I've driven over last couple of years that is so much fun,the compact size is a huge factor ,only complaint is after a series of 500+ bhp cars ...it could do with a touch more straight line go.

I am somewhat the opposite. Picked mine up the other day and think it is a brilliant car. Great damping, strong engine, brilliant gearbox etc. However, on road at road speeds it is almost a bit too capable.

I think it needs a track or a willingness to really push very hard for it to come alive. Steering is also relatively mute?

Time will tell but so far on road I am having more fun in my Elise and Caterham...

I'm prepared to believe that a Caterham or Elise could well be more fun on the road in the scheme of things, but for a DD or weekend away with the missus car they have much less appeal I'm sure.
The GT4 is a pretty good compromise I think, it is very good on track, and you can drive there and back in some comfort.

It's not really a DD or weekend away with the missus car either though !

I am sure my other half would rather I had a M4 or a Audi TTRS.

Well everybody will likely have a different take on that, mine is happy enough in it for a weekend away, although she does prefer the X3 in all honesty.

Entirely agree. As a car that can do it all from B road blaster, track car through to doing the shopping, it is fantastic. As a car to give an instantaneous hit on road, it is understandably not as good as a proper lightweight. That is to be entirely expected though.

I am more a classic/older car guy so think my next car will probably be something made in the 70s...

compact size !! it feels big to me lol o well

as for top end, I was doing 145 banana's the other day, and tend to go above 100 banana's most days to even get the car to excite me.
esp as it does about 115mph in 3rd gear !

I am not sure how people are having so much fun in their GT4 at normal speeds, as some have said far far to capable on the road to have fun in.

I can only think people are happy to pootle about in a trophy car and that is the fun of them, to be seen in !

Because real fun on the road in a GT4 is prison speeds, even more so in the GT3's

Still a great car and I am happy to see loads on track days so at least a few ended up in the right hands.

I guess we are seeing a split review on what is fun by owners atm , same happened with ex GT3 owners buying the Cayman R and saying more fun, these top end GT cars only come alive on track or at crazy speed and I do mean crazy speeds.

My R is far more fun and slower, and that's still to fast for the road really !

The gt4 definitely was better on track I found. On the road it's pretty lacking in feel compared to the older 997 gt3 (and would be an even longer way from the elise/caterham) and that made it considerably less interesting to drive at normal road speeds. That's part of the compromise for it's all round capability I suppose though...

I can entirely believe that - I am expecting it to be supreme on track. Still waiting for my PEC invitation...

Forget the PEC wink If you're due to go up to the PEC go the full works and get a proper trackday at Silverstone! Or Brands GP actually would be even better...the gt4 shouldn't have issues with the sound police I hope there.

Hi Sandy , how do you rate the 981 Spyder vs the GT4 on the road ? I thought the rag top was more fun (just talking road here , not track) smile

Ever since the 986s 3rd gear has always been way over national speed limit and as for the 987.2 3.4 engine that is over 100 mph in 3 rd !
If you want a sports car for road fun with lots of gear changes then you need a car that has a top speed of 120 mph! The 80s hot hatches spring to mind, I had a Toyota Corolla gti which was a great car but lived in the shadow of the VW golf mk2 gti!
Imo the gt4 is more junior Supercar than sports car!
Anyway it's short comings can be fixed!
