Anyone been to Donny in a GT4 yet? Having heard them from the pit wall at Spa, my guess is that they will be borderline for Donny's 98 db driveby noise test. 997GT3s regularly trip the meters at Donny.
No problem in my Spyder which has been said to be noisier than the GT4 on track. Must have a broken exhaust Anyone with Sport Chrono struggling to connect to the cars Wi-Fi the password is GTxXXXXXXX where x is lower case and XXXXXX is the VIN in uppercase. It's not particularly clear in the instructions and by the 10th time you've typed in the VIN you have pretty much lost the will to live.

From your experience guys, when did you feel you had an accurate idea when your car would actually arrive? At the moment I'm being told mid June, but I'm trying to arrange detailing etc, which is impossible when the date is nothing more than an estimate. Is there a point when it becomes clearer, i.e. when the car is being built, or when it arrives at the UK dock etc? Anyway of tracking it aside from hassling the dealer?
Have you still not been able to get them to check on their system yet! They should have the checkpoint 8(completion) ship to port, ship to UK and dealer delivery dates on their system. I wonder if my OPC can see other build details, or just their own.Elvorfin said:

Nope, just an estimated delivery date. If that information should be available to me by now, some 2 months still to go, I'll hassle them on Monday for more information, as I'm getting less than this back and am desperately trying to sort out timings.mdianuk said:

I had to hassle my dealer for updates, it never moved. I introduced the detailer to the OPC sales manager and let them organise themselves. To the OPC's credit, when they knew the date they confirmed the booking I had pencilled with the detailer directly and they both notified me that things were in place. The detailer I used was used to the vagaries of Porsche's delivery system and flexible to accommodate. Mutema said:

Yeah, most of them are familiar with how Porsche and others operate. I don't mind waiting until closer the time for more specific dates but decent detailers get booked up months in advance and I'd sooner it be perfect from the start, rather than a few weeks later. Still have no idea at what stage a reg plate is assigned/handed over and if that gives enough advance notice to find an insurer! Will get there in the end!mdianuk said:

I pencilled my detailer about 3 months in advance - he worked at the OPC so I had to ensure they had reserved space for him. Also had my insurance sorted out months before the plate was even assigned. Agreed value with Aurum, no issues, just needed to confirm start date when I knew I was collecting the vehicle. Your dealer should let you choose a plate in advance, it's after March so they'll have allocations in their books already. That is unless you're doing a custom plate. isaldiri said:
Got the car last week, haven't quite got enough miles to make a decent judgement of it though!
Have 1 more trackday with the 12c this friday at the ring then the gt4 takes over as the track car for a while. Will be at one of the BaT donnington days for sure and some Silverstone Goldtrack ones. Will pop you an email when i get my dates sorted.
I've just booked the 6th with a garage ... Steve, might it be your turn to share my garage ?Have 1 more trackday with the 12c this friday at the ring then the gt4 takes over as the track car for a while. It will be great to build a group of like minds

I just connected mine this evening ... agreed it's a nuisance --- don't forget that the WP0ZZZ 0 is a zero !ChrisW. said:

6th June is Javelin. I've used them and found the days to be run well. And nearly £100 less than a BaT day at Donnny! Might be up for that day too in my lowly CR.

Presumably through a registration plate cannot be assigned to a car that doesn't exist yet for the purposes of it showing up on an insurance database though, no? It is my intention to pick up a private plate for the car in May, so I'm limited at the moment on what I can do, though sorting early would of course be very handy, one less thing to think about.mdianuk said:

Database would not be updated until car registered-but a plate could be "reserved" for you.mdianuk said:

I would as if they have an estimated date they are probably getting it from Porsche on their order system. Dont know if you've been dealing with them by phone or not but if you can get into the dealership and "make" them lok on the system you might have more joy.Gassing Station | Porsche General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
