It takes 2 weeks to build a porker, who cares really !

You get a build date 2 weeks later it's built.
I care when it helps determine when to check with my OPC if the car is in build, as it gives an idea of if their target ETA is still valid, so thanks for confirming.

By that very rough timescale, my car goes into build on Friday 13th biggrin

your OPC can track it most places just like BMW, it's when it lands in the UK it vanishes !! esp at busy times ie new reg plate times.
So from port to dealer can be 1 week or 3 !

My dealer was great I popped in at the same time my car arrived on the transporter just by chance, they turned it around in 1 day so I picked it up the following day. But I think most want 3 days for turn around.

The issue with locating the car seems to be when it's left the factory and landed in the UK it just vanishes for 3 weeks.

even the BMW system is st between blocks 9 and 10 as that is where the car vanishes.

the BMW blocks just tell you when it left the factory, you can get that from your OPC, and when it lands at the dealers, again you can get that from your OPC as they now have it !

The blocks may look fancy but really tell you nothing.
Have you ever tried being less superior?

You don't have any mates, (and certainly no mutual ones) so I find that hard to believe.

Why do you think I'm trolling?
I have an interest in the GT4, but you didn't know that because, surprise surprise, and contrary to what you think, you don't know everything.

I posted that BMW tracker pic in good faith but you, as usual, just blatantly declare it 'st'.

Troll indeed....

Anyway, I'll leave it there and let the 'prospective' (important word that, David) thread continue.

Personally I'm also interested in where my car is on the production line, and it adds to the anticipation of getting the car. Seems pointless just to dis everything!

Anyhow, changing the subject. Where was everyone at Donington this afternoon? I turned up on the way home from PEC and there was nobody there!

Was there a mass outbreak of "washing my hair"?

Is the GT4 available with the CS package while retaining the red/yellow detail on the bucket seats?

Also is the 6 point harness detachable? If not is it uncomfortable driving while not using them?

I put the shoulder belts back trough the seat and fold the lap belts into the edges of the seats.

Yes the crotch buckle can get in the way, but in practice you only sit on it once smile

When not on track we thread the shoulder straps back through the seat roll them up, and stuff then into the slots cut in the bulkhead carpet for the belt brackets. The lap ones fold over the sides of the seats (extend them to their max position so that the buckle doesn't rub on the CF of the seat) and the anti-sub belt can be fed back through the seat base and sit under the seat out of the way.

Yes, you can still spec the coloured stitching with clubsport, the only none option is the passenger storage net I presume because of the fire extinguisher location.

Arse! People were just talking about going on the 6th hadn't cottoned on to it being in June, bit coincidental that they have one on 6th May and 6th June.

Has anybody had a dunlop tyre repaired due to a screw or is it best to replace?

Well you'll get lots of different replies on this.

It really depends where the screw is exactly, if it's within the main tread get a certified repairer to check it out, there may be no reason why it can't be properly and safely repaired.

Ask Porsche and they'll tell you to replace it, as will many other's on here I'm sure.

As said, depends where it is. Some can be repaired as good as new, had several over the years.

I've found a lovely delivery miles GT4 in a colour I like but the spec sheet shows that, despite a long list of options, the 64 litre fuel tank isn't amongst them. I plan to use the car for continental jaunts so I'm keen on the big tank. Does anyone know if it is retrofittable?
