It was a day of solid car-porn --- the weather was far better than expected and brightened up enormously by the Viper Green and Light Green GT4's that were strutting their stuff !!

I may have to try the shims and rear toe-links ... just to find out if the tyre was Anglesey'd or understeered smile

Lol! I remember you mentioned the tyre size thing at Oulton. Damn. Cup2 life is unreal though. I think you'd be very surprised.
I'm not so sure about this. I'm finding the front tyres on cup 2 are not lasting that much longer on track.
There is something different going on at the front of this car.
Either the rim is not wide enough for the tyre, or we need different driving style, or we need to slow down!

The tyre has worn very evenly ...

Yes the shoulder edge has been taken off, but if you look at the shape of Church and consider that you may touch 125 before the big brake into Rocket ... I can't think of anywhere else quite like it ... Chris' at Cadwell park ??

And the driver's side ...

Yes - similar vein to yours.
Was at Silverstone last week...it is a definite improvement - particularly in the slower corners.

However, I am used to my 996 which has more aggressive geo, stiffer suspension, and a more locking diff....and therefore although I should not be comparing them, you end up doing so.
Getting the GT4 to the apex in medium to high speed corners seems more challenging...I guess this is style related and can be dialled out.
Missing the strong rotation from the rear of the car.

I started out F/med and R/hard on the ARBs but moved it to F/med and R/med as the rear was too loose. Probably didn't help that the front tyres were brand new and rears used.

Was surprised to see similar wear pattern to the fronts - ie second thread wear at a diagonal profile. Suspect near side front will last 3 track days at most.

I suspect I am driving 'inefficiently' with high front wear. Pace is equivalent to about 2:26 if that is a variable.
Need another outing...as the day I was on had a fair bit of traffic.

Car is finally here, 10 days early so cant complain, though I can about the cheb out of the from bumper during transport. Being fixed by them but wont affect when i can pick it up.

No pictures yet, only seen it with all the plastic still attached and only had the camera in my 6 year old iPhone 3GS so no point really.

I'll post picture on pickup.

I have mine switched off most of the time and it stays that way.

Can you preset the main feature such as radio, aircon etc. like other Porsches? I haven't read the book yet but mine switches onto Radio 4 on FM and not the DAB receiver after I switch inputs.

Very interesting thread now!
Here is my front tyre after a day at Spa. Suitably ragged!

I have the most negative camber I can get on the std set up at the front -1.9 and everything else as per std. Roll bars: front max soft, rear middle. Car is superb to drive and incredibly well balanced. Very sensitive to driver style, any small change in driving style giving a noticeable difference in cornering attitude. I think that the Porsche set up is very well engineered. The car clearly sits in the sweet spot where small changes have noticeable effects. In this context it is better than any GT3 I have tracked. Not sure that I want to make any dramatic changes to the chassis because I like the subtlety that it has now.

A bit more front camber possibly to keep the tyres intact for longer but only if it doesn't spoil other things.

Not sure why people chase more rear negative camber, rear tyre wear is very good, nice and even on my car. Advice please.

The only mod I an seriously cogitating is the engine upgrade to get a freer breathing top end. Not to go faster per se, but to make the experience more enjoyable and stimulating.

Those of us lucky enough to have one do own a brilliant toy woohoo

I thought you were selling in exchange for a Clubsport ???

I'm running standard, --- max negative camber with standard toe at normal ride height (not lowered), but medium front and rear ARB's ...

Does softening the front make it turn in better ?

I don't generally have trouble getting it into the apex, I just have to extend the braking into the apex smile

softening the front will roll the tyre even more !!

As I said Chris, with -2.3 up front if feels a load better and doable on stock parts.

My car is sitting at Emden dock waiting for the African Highway to return. Time has suddenly slowed down!

So it seems that having placed a deposit at the end of last year in the hope of getting a GT4 from my OPC and then having that deposit returned in April with an apologetic explanation that I had missed out on an order, which wasn't a huge surprise, I am now back in with a confirmed order awaiting production and delivery in August.

It's funny how these things turn out, hopefully all will be well this time and I'll be receiving one of the last cars off the production line. Can't wait!

I'm not sure what cnx order means, but I suspect it's that as the spec wasn't amendable.

Still a great result to get one - what is the spec?
