One doesn't seem to see Cup cars needing rws to corner. And the cornering speeds of the 7gt3/rs with cup2s is not significantly less at all than the 991gt3 or RS with the bulk of the performance gains between car generations from tyres and transmission. Funny that.....
Future cup cars are going to be mid engined. Funny indeed. EricE said:

GT3R/RSR yes but favourable BoP at the moment is very much needed to keep them competitive whatever the engine layout. Cup cars I very much doubt will follow the RSR route though. And one notes the successful cars in the 24h Nurburgring were the BMWs and Mercs.. perhaps Porsche should go the whole hog to make their racing cars front engined...? Sam All said:
And turbocharged?
turbo is pretty much guaranteed for the racing cars I would guess and sooner rather than later. Air restrictors limit hp not torque so the 600+hp standard road car engines limited by the restrictors are producing the full hp allowed long before the current Porsche racing cars are and it shows.mdianuk said:
Yep, confirmed on the boat 31st May and has since had a PAG invoice created (whatever one of them is, maybe internal charges). No date as entry to Sheerness yet. Showing around 10 days ahead of schedule, which is great, aside from having a busy couple of weeks prior to the original collection date.

Two weeks according to official schedule, but about one week ahead of target. It is spending a week in Sheerness, lucky thing, waiting for the assigned delivery date to OPC. I expect to take delivery next week sometime.Edited by mdianuk on Tuesday 7th June 13:37

Took the Carrera S Gen 2 back today and picked mine up from the dealer as the speakers in the drivers door were knackered and my god is the GT4 a sensation after a relatively cooking 911 !Edited by mdianuk on Tuesday 7th June 13:37
The front end is so sharp, made the 911 feel like an A4. The 911 had a sports exhaust too, nothing, not even close to the sound of a GT4. Epic epic epic!
Driving a 'normal' Porsche really does make you realise how good this thing is.

Seems strange that it's stuck in Sheerness for a Week, my scheduled delivery was 3rd June and it was delivered to the dealer 10 days early. He did say they have a habit of just turning up without them being told, and 2 hours after he said that, that's exactly what happened! You might be lucky yet Ian.Edited by mdianuk on Tuesday 7th June 13:37

Maybe, but they seem quite fixed in their agreement for deliveries on a Friday only, but I'm in no rush, I don't really have the time to pick up this week sadly.mdianuk said:

I'm sure this has already been covered, but can you disable the passenger side air-bag and does anyone know of a baby seat that fits the width of the 918 seats?
I'm guessing no one has found a solution yet? Maybe I should pop into Mothercare and test them all out haha.PS - no idea how I'm getting so stressed over waiting on the reg so I can insure the car, and arranging to transfer the money! Just want the damn thing now! Here comes the rain too...

You disable the passenger side airbag using the switch that you were not allowed to order because you chose bucket seats. The switch can be dealer fitted if you can convince one to do it for you despite you having buckets.

Ah right, "sorry son, you'll have to follow on in the hatchback with mum!"Secondly, the Recaro nova sport seat with centre bolster belt cushion fits in the buckets perfectly well, just have to fold back the Isofix arms. Put the bucket all the way back to the bulkhead, strap in the munchkin with the seatbelt and off you go. Have one of my little ones in there most weekends and super snug and safe.

My GT silver CS came off the production line today. Pick it up in Stuttgart in exactly 1 month. Feels like an eternity to go despite the considerable wait up to this point...
Now starting the naus of getting insurance etc. Trying Locktons first. Anybody else got a decent GT4 insurer recommendation?

As it's a CS I assume you will be doing some track days. If so, try Mannings and Henderson Taylor. Mannings have unlimited track days (some limitations such as the ring) and HT give 6 I believe but you have to give them 24 hours notice to arrange cover. Now starting the naus of getting insurance etc. Trying Locktons first.
