Article posted today by the FT Alphaville, they seem to have a reasonable round up of information on the recent "overs" market and do quote Pistonheads as a resource.

Apolo 1 is it true that a GT4 overtook you at Silvertone whilst you were in your GT3RS?

I know 4 918 owners at least 2 on here and 2 good friends , all refused the R . Unfortunately for uk 918 owners there's no usa style VIP status .
Happy to answer any questions that I can .

Lol...
The GT4 was driven by a pro race driver, whilst was very fast. No it could not pass the 91RS.
After a lap the GT4 was not as far behind as I would have thought, so I pulled off line let him go to see what lines he was taking, then realised who it was, a very good pro race driver..RS is as fast as a 918 round some parts of the track.

Apolo1

Last time I checked Kav1 wasn't a pro racing driver, I have been told by various sources that it was him who was driving the GT4 on that sad day for you!

In defence of Apolo I think there are numerous RS owners that could get overtaken by a pro in a GT4. Especially in the wet. Fact is most amateur drivers are really quite slow compared to people who know what they are doing, Of course overtaking is one thing, lapping is quite another - less realistic.

Thanks for your kind words
No need though, Kav 1 hires pro driver to drive him around, maybe one of the best GT drivers around today, on both UK and International level..

Pro driver did not pass RS, I was at 10/10s.. GT4 like I said was still reasonable gap behind after one lap...So I pulled off line intrigued, Pro driver behind the wheel...

These are the facts, make of it what you will.....

GT4, is very fast car and punches well above its class, but i could no get on with the gearing.

Like you, I know how to drive my cars, you have PM......

I have confirmation that it was NOT a pro racing driver who overtook your RS that day but indeed it was a gentleman called KAV1 in his black GT4. The truth here is that you got overtaken by a less powerful car and your coming out with silly stories to justify and make yourself feel better!!!

My advice to you would be to employ that pro racing driver you keep going on about to show you better lines instead of making fibbish stories up as your not fooling anyone here!!!!!

That's interesting, I thought the 918 owners got first option on the 991 GT3 RS, or was it GT4 or both? But not 991R ??

I'm confused now what the pecking order is for the 991R now. Is it just down to being a good customer? Whatever you make of that word of course smile

Got the confirmed date when 911R arrives! Been having withdrawal symptoms as I had to give up my gt3rs

Factory collection on the 26th July, then a quick blast up the autobahn to see how fast she is, on the way home.

No we need porsche to build a lot lot more cars so I might have a chance of actually owning one!
Failing that a market crash on brexit where values tumble!
