New Spyder...no clutch!

I'm a different Chris ... but I would be really fed-up if it were me. And because I have bought a spare set of wheels for my GT4 I was suggesting a solution that could cost the dealer nothing and at least say a credibly "sorry" ...
I hope my comments came across as constructive ...
I had no problem with your suggestion. I hope my comments came across as constructive ...
There was a post on the Bixster Spyder thread where a new Spyder owner was given an extra years warranty and a free service or two (can't recall exactly) for his trouble when he had a clutch issue.
I hope the dealer is being helpful re the damage . I had to fight Audi tooth and nail when they recovered my car and caused 26k worth of damage . I suspect you are going to be put in contact with the recovery agents insurers which is when the fun starts in my experience . I hope you get it sorted quickly.
Thank you.
The dealer is being as helpful as they can be. I popped in this morning to get an update and the problem had been diagnosed as a pipe connection failure - or something like that. New parts ordered.
They also got me out of the BMW hire car and put me into one of their 911's. When the car is up on the ramp I can call in and check for any other damage.
I've also registered a complaint with BMW GB who seemed keen to offset the blame onto Porsche Assistance (basically The AA!!).
I'll be much happier when I discover that new wheels have been ordered.

Have they given you a timeframe for fixing the issue and replacing the wheels? I can imagine you are desperate for the car back given the weather was specifically arranged for your new cars arrival.
The replacement clutch pipe should be on site tomorrow. Not sure about the wheels yet but I'll find out tomorrow.I had booked this week off work to take the car out (given that the weather looked good). It won't be quite so easy to plan another week as I now have meetings booked into my diary.
I'd ideally like it back with everything addressed rather than having to go back and forth again.
Clutch was quite a simple fix. Just required a replacement press fit hydraulic fitting.
New wheels are at the dealers. Just waiting on the replacement front splitter and plastic trim piece that fits around the lower arch above the splitter.
Looking forward to taking delivery for the second time

Good to hear it, hope you manage to score another week off work to enjoy it; maybe tell them the other week ended up being compassionate leave New wheels are at the dealers. Just waiting on the replacement front splitter and plastic trim piece that fits around the lower arch above the splitter.

Can't wait. It was such a fun car to drive (for a very short time!)
While it's in they will be fitting the Porsche stripe and I've removed the seat inserts to get them painted (like the ones on my GTS - but in white of course). It'll tie in with the rest of the painted trim and brighten it up a little.

Hoping for some insight into the likely problem?
Picked up my beautiful new Spyder an hour ago and lost the clutch on the drive home. Pedal is down to the floor. I can pull it back but goes straight back to the floor once depressed.
Waiting for the recovery vehicle
You werent the guy at Leicester were you? Spyder looks lovely. Very sorry to hear about the issues. Hope you get it sorted because you have a gorgeous looking car imoPicked up my beautiful new Spyder an hour ago and lost the clutch on the drive home. Pedal is down to the floor. Glad you've got it sorted;
Bloody annoying when stuff like this happens.
My GT3 went in with a check engine light - expecting a coil pack change - ended up with a new engine !
And a 3 series BMW Diesel estate for 5 weeks - got p'd off near the end and got a new 911 turbo from the dealer on loan for a week.
You've got a good combo there - the Box spyder is a damn good car - I'd definitely have one over the GT4

No. Cardiff is my local OPC. It's almost there - just the splitter to wait for.
And thanks. The Spyder blew me away!

I could almost forgive the clutch pipe but to damage a brand new car (half an hour old), during recovery is unacceptable. Bloody annoying when stuff like this happens.

I initially had a 5 series touring organised by Porsche Assistance but Cardiff quickly put me into a 991.2 which I'm currently using. So thank you Cardiff.
