Molly's been prevaricating over 996 GT3's prices/buying one since the dawn of time, and will continue to do so right up until hell freezes over But if nothing else his pontification has provided the pefect platform for many entertaining and heated debates over the pros and cons of the Mk 1 996 GT3.
I cannot deny that is true! Like many, I should have bought one 3 years ago for £35k.The boat has sailed and its time to stop kicking myself and move on!
Fast forward to early this year when I finally decided to sell the '64 and the cost to change was now £30K. If I still wanted a 6GT3 I would have paid that. However, a 6GT3 doesn't fit my current needs for a Porsche (which is plenty of road use and track capable). For me that meant a Cayman R. While looking for one I was tempted by various 987S gen 2 models which I could have had for no extra cost over the selling price of the '64. But this time I stuck to my guns and realized that the extra £10K or so for an R over an S would be the right decision for the future. I guess I'll see what the future brings but in the mean time I've bought the R to enjoy and will continue to do so.

It's a shame as I can tell you'd love it and I think that you deserve it for your contributions to PH - If I win the lottery (properly rather than a £10 ) this weekend I'll buy it for you ! The boat has sailed and its time to stop kicking myself and move on!

....you don't get to go through it twice.
Sort it out son!! :-P
Lovely
Of the old-timers I found a '73 2.4S that fitted my budget --- although my 996GT3 MkI will never see the track, my Cayman GT4 will do that job
These are great cars ... and the GT4 can have a 15 year guarantee if kept under 100000 miles ??
Maybe that now defines a Porsche Classic --- once it's too old to have the new warranty or extension ! ?

I'd rather put £100k into that, a CS after all and only 15k miles, than into a 70k mile non CS at £70k.http://suchen.mobile.de/fahrzeuge/details.html?id=...
