A number of people have been caught by a scammed on Autotrader for car at £33995 reg AJ03 UEX for sale near Exeter, genuine pictures from last sale, genuine name and address that check out, money going to lloyds Bank Chelmsford. It's been reported to police and a number have been caught by an English person for various deposits upto £4k.

Buyers beware if it's to good to be true then it's probably a scam

Looks like a perfectly sensible remark, really who would pay a deposit to someone they have never met for a car they have never seen???

If was a reputable dealer for a rare and in demand car, then maybe a different situation or although personally I still wouldn't.

Do you want to buy my 996 GT2? 15,000 miles, club sport spec, FPSH. I'm looking for £30,000.

Send me a 10% deposit via western union& I will take it off the market for you.

Deal?

What was the mileage & gearbox type?

Has your friend managed to get his deposit back?
