Has anybody removed the cage from a 991 GT3 RS to Paint?

The cage in my car is standard black but I want to paint same as body colour in Viper Green (Code 2D8).

Any advice or lessons learned would be great

Lots of Photo's once removed and painted!

Thinking of changing out seat belts for yellow and door pulls. Seat belts I'm sure will be easier once cage out.

Centre consul top can be easy changed for the one with Porsche Crest.

Looks like me and my big pal from Falkirk going to be busy :-)

I am toying with the idea of getting mine painted to match the car, I have already changed the seat belts, it's doable with the cage in, but tight.

Cool - Agree cage better the body colour....
I'm going to start the removal of mine this week....

On the belts were you able to get from UK OPC or USA?
Waiting on answer from OPC to get yellow door pulls and belts

I actually managed to stumble on a brand new set on eBay on the off chance, my friend liked the idea of the yellow so I sent my standard black ones I removed away and had the webbing changed for yellow, they came back perfect.

Hi
I am in the process of painting my gt3 cage.

Have taken it out, any pointers on installing please.

The side rear quarters seem to be a pain covering g the front cage base plates.

Thank you!

I had the cage in my 991.1 RS painted in Ultraviolet to match the car. I dropped the car off at Parr in crawley and they did it all. Much easier than risking any damage to the inside of the car or cage.

Not sure why Porsche don't cut off those blank tube ends, they look terrible and cheap!

My .2 GT3 was the same but in black, so they weren't so noticeable.

The blank tube ends are there to receive the front cage section. It’s an FIA thing. They’re doing no one no harm.
