I'm not sure whether its related to Brexit but there seems to be a price correction in progress at the moment.
Nothing to do with Brexit IMO. Ive kept an eye on Euro prices and supply and demand rules will always win... 1. These crazy over's prices being paid are not the norm but the exception 2. There's huge choice on offer at the moment. All it takes is for a percentage of less greedy flippers to drop their prices to sell and still make (a more reasonable) overs and you'll have a price correction. It's already happening in Europe, suspect here as well.

One thing is for sure these price corrections being seen is not indicative of this level of the market. Sure the top 1 - 2% £MM cars have had a haircut but looking at other marques (even other Porsches) trading seems to be 'healthy'.

This is less brexit and more about greed and risk of fingers getting burnt (which for flippers is never a bad thing)!

I'd like one but prices are on the downward trend. My current thinking is to get a 997 GT3 RS instead and maybe move to 991 RS later on...

Yeah I think you're probably right, there are too many of these cars (GT3 RS and Speciale specifically) available and the premiums are / were absurd so it was a matter of time until they came back down.

As you say, good news for those of us who want to own one of these to use as intended.

Bloke I work with bought a Speciale for £350k last year as an investment....thinks it will be worth £700k in the next two or three year. He's just got no idea. One of his mates bought five LHD 4.0 RS's three years ago and clearly did very nicely out of it so he's trying to jump on the bandwagon. "It'll be the next 599 GTO". Classic "more money than sense". Car market is full of them. HR Owen are doing a brilliant jobn on him, they are currently trying to get him to buy an F12 "because it's the last naturally aspirated V12". I've seen a few highly specced cars/unusual colour cars sell for seemingly decent amounts more than that but there are now high spec cars up for less than £350k....

Definitely a correction going on, and once a deflationary mindset take holds prices will continue to drop. Priced at this level buyers have a new mark they wont want to go over

The fact that this hasn't sold instantly may be quite telling also(it may not be available)

Spoke to them about it yesterday and all seems genuine. Missing PCCBs which accounts for part of the low price. Early cars sold at much higher figures but all that initial excitement has gone and they are on downward slide.

997.2 RS seem to be coming up to meet them at nearly 200k and wonder if that means 991 RS will eventually end up near that too...

Just seen this one - http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/p...

The price is £275k but the seats are 'normal', I thought the RS came with buckets only.

Is that not 212k plus VAT? It wasn't that long ago that 911 Sport were trying to shift'em for £340k...

Nope 212k all incl. A few cars sold early on at 300k but no longer. Some very good spec delivery mile cars available now mid 230s.

I wouldn't mind being a quid behind him...people buying these for overs are not exactly mortgaging the house to do it you'd think.

Yeah. And 212k is offer. Bid much have been say 20k lower. Still a significant amount over list so all parties are happy! That said how the hell are some cars on sale for 275k and others for 212k!

What's quite depressing is the low three digit mileages on these cars for sale. Porsches are famed and seemingly bought for their everyday usability compared to their peers in all categories and the RS is no exception especially in 991 guise.

Doubt if the dealers are buying them so something like 10k is the bid to offer for SOR. The cars at silly money will be stuck and eventually get taken back and driven or price will fall and end up with someone who will use. Another thread has numbers of these cars and UK 991 RS is over 200 so far and quite a few more could come up for sale

200 is not many cars ; production is nearly finished - odd one here or there - but they are going to be pretty rare things smile

Yes, it's not many but thought it was quite a bit more than earlier versions and more are still to be delivered...
I'd love one by the way they are awesome beasts
