Firstly - Fantastic to have a valueless thread talking about Porsche design - what a refreshing change - lets keep it up :

FWIW : I think these are the most beautiful to my eyes :

1973 RS :

964 Turbo - what an arse !

I will always be a fan of the wide bodied car. Supersport, 930 Turbo, 964 3.6 Turbo. 993 just looks slightly awkward compared to the pre 993 cars except for the 911GT or GT2 that just looks magnificent. Trumps all other wide bodies. 2.7RS a thing of beauty. When I sit and just look at my 65 car from any angle there is not one thing I would change. It is a masterpiece. Clay modelling a thing of the past. Computer technology cannot replace that art. To be able to truly sculpt a design, E Type, mk2 Jag, mk10 Jag and countless others. There is not one modern day car out there that you could study and find not one styling issues with. The Hellcat comes pretty close. It just needs to be a little shorter in height which would make it look wider. Then you would have the original 71 Challenger. But safety over design comes first

For shear beauty alone I'd have one of these in Guards Red in my garage, I know its not a "real" Porsche...but look at it.

I do like the Singer and I admire the ethos behind it. Also the 356 Coupe which I reckon will be by next addition. A Speedster would be nice but my missus is useless at picking the right numbers

Very pleased with my new acquisition.

Maybe more purposeful than beautiful but it works for me.

This is my opinion so if it upsets some...too bad.

To my eyes the mid 70's to early 90's 911's are stunningly beautiful things, never really liked the looks of the 924 and 928 plus the 968 was just plain hideous as is the 996, the 997 looks better as it's much better proportioned.

When I first saw pictures of the Cayman I loved its shape and curves it kind of reminded me of the 80's 911's I liked so much, the two lines that run from the roof down the tailgate look amazing as does the classic rounded tops on the front wings features sadly missing from the 981, the GTS is the looker of the range with its bespoke bumpers and the GT4 would look sensational if it had centrelock wheels.

As for the newest cars...the 991 has some nice lines even though it is huge, the Turbo S is really lovely as is the GT3 and RS the groove down the bonnet and roof looks stunning on these cars, the Cayene and Panamera are function over form unfortunately not that pretty to look at. As for the new Boxster and Cayman they are not Porsches finest design they are too fussy they have lost the flowing curves that a Porsche should have...too many edges for my liking.
This is " really lovely" :

This :

on the other hand, isn't. But what's more it just about sums up everything that's wrong with Porsche AG and the vast majority of it's current designs :

As for the Cayenne hurl and Panamera hurl being "not that pretty", let's call that a gross understatement and leave it at that.

And on the odd occasion that Porsche choose NOT to add all the usual extraneous sh*t to their more modern cars, the results are rather stunning :

This was a step in the right direction (but shouldn't have been a limited edition) :

So the OP asks a very reasonable question and point of debate, yet the thread descends into relentless posting of picture after picture of Porsche's over the years.

Happens every time... the discussions start out sensible and sooner or later everybody posts his own car hoping to fish for compliments.
At least I learned that there may be people out there that consider cars like the 993 turbo, 986 and 997 "beautiful". nerd

Focusing on the 911's I'd struggle to put any other above the 993, its still the perfect shape, its beyond beautiful.

That rear looks 'enhanced' - is it a body kit?

you cannot beat the original narrow hipped design.........

Not beautiful to me,as much as I love them, and the older the 911 the more it looks like a beetle.
