There's a Mahogany Cayenne near me. I'm not convinced it's a great colour. I know that the Cayenne is a big, slab-sided beast but where black works, the brown just ... doesn't.
I think it might be one of those colours that looks great when clean and in bright sunshine or under showroom down-lighters but it might not be great in our weather/daylight conditions.

I think it's a beautiful colour in the sunshine (note the pics above). However I reckon in overcast Blighty it will look a little depressing when the sun ain't shining.
I suspect you may be right. Does look great in all these pics with bright clear sunshine, but this may be a colour which is dull and washed out on darker cloudy days.Whereas your silver, grey, or blue shades don't look dull on darker days.

I think mahogany a lovely colour. I currently have a similar shade (smoked topaz) on my BMW and the wife's mini (Iced Chocolate). I have boring white on my Spyder !! Take care on chosing the upholstery to go with it though especially be wary of the light colours on the dashboard as they can give terrible reflections in the windscreen.
Had many BMWs in the past, and I was often tempted by smoked topaz. It's very similar.Cabsi said:
I like it. But I do like unusual colours...
I have an Amethyst 987 Cayman, which looks a bit like the second picture of the 981, when the sun isn't shining.
Not familiar with Amethyst. Have a pic you can post?I have an Amethyst 987 Cayman, which looks a bit like the second picture of the 981, when the sun isn't shining.
I had a mahogany Boxster S when I was waiting for my GT3
The leather was "beige" or natural and looked great - loads of compliments etc
But the Porsche dealer had REAL trouble selling it due to the colour
Looked beautiful washed with the sun out but I think you'll suffer at resale
If that is of NO importance I thought it was a great colour
Would I buy it if it was my money
No
