Porsche 911 GT2 spy shots

Well of course it will be very fast at the Nurburgring, but just what is it?

Here we go again. Not so long ago, spy shots emerged of what appeared to be a GT 911, with big wings, vents and scoops wherever you looked. Was it a GT3 RS? Probably not, given how the exhausts looked. GT2 RS then? It would seem strange for that to arrive before the GT2. Trouble being that the prototype looked too aggressive for a modern GT2 as well. Hmm...

Here's another 911 mule, this time running what appears to be the full GT3 Cup rear spoiler, side intakes large enough to swallow small birds and aero flics that could probably cut them up if they are too big. It's an outrageous looking car, but there are a few subtle details to be aware of too.

See the rear lights, the first time the 991.II units have been used in these test cars. It has exhausts in a similar place to a Turbo as well, albeit using two pipes instead of four. The front has some big intakes to back up those on the side, suggesting there's a turbo or two demanding a lot of air... Finally, it appears to come with some very racy seats and a cage behind them - no messing!

Yet we're still not much wiser as to what this 911 is. It seems unlikely to be a GT3 RS facelift now, so the safest bet now appears to be on a GT2. Given how ballistically fast a standard Turbo is, what must a GT2 with two-wheel drive and (probably) more power feel like? We can't wait to find out!

Looks like the 2 RS. Its going to need a lot more power than Porches variable vane turbos are capable of to compete with 675 LT and 488 track version. Be interesting to see whether they drop VTGs or add hybrid system.

I have been waiting for them to do a GT2 for so long. Maybe a 991 I can get genuinely excited about!

If you look closely under the rear bumper you can see the turbo oil lines. They look similar to this



I think its maybe the GT2 or GT2 RS

Here we go again, another car Porsche will make 5 of, know one can buy it even if they want too etc etc... Don't even bother reporting on it if you ask me then maybe they will actually stop the farce that is their gt programme.

I think its a GT2 RS and they'll simply skip the regular GT2.

I think we will see both. Too much profit to turn their nose up at. Those winglets are just part of its camo.

No, that looks quite different. Spotted in Monza.

I don't think there is space for both the GT2 and GT2 RS in the same 2nd half of 991 generation but who knows?
