I started a thread a few days ago about a 986 respray, I wanted Miami Blue...for a car I didn't have.....burt was thinking of......

Mostly thinking aloud, but was contacted by one of us , who had a car to sell, and now, only a few days later, have a 986 S sitting on my drive! Be careful what you wish for.....

So next question;

Moving in a few week time and should have a garage big enough, so;

Home car lift, who has done it, how much, and how much to install? i.e. wha the real total cost...?

Loads on ebay. I only tend to look at 4 post ones but 6-800 buys one.
Most are 3 phase which is an issue. You can get invertors or just replace the motor with a single phase one but check first as you could easily spend the same amount again.
There are some hobby 4 posts out there new. Strongarm and a dutch place spring to mind.
Also watch the rising posts on old Bradbury ones if you don't want a hole in the ceiling!

Recently bought a new 4 post for the same reason. Paid about £1450 and this included a sliding beam jack. Regarding assembly, self assembly although I did rope in some added muscle for carrying the ramp decks. These are heavy!!! Assembly took two days. Only called in a sparky to do the final connection to the fuse box.

Best investment ever!!!
Even simple jobs like wheel changes are so much easier when the car is at the right height.

Sorry, cars gone in for a new clutch and a couple of other bits and pieces; I'll take some when I get it back.

If space is a little tight for a 4 poster get one of these for tinkering on the Boxster!

I quite like that!

How much does it restrict access to the underside? And is it moveable, i.e. you could move it from one garage bay to the next?
