its guards red.
really nicely shot film, its becoming an art form all on its own right with the drone footage and all.
in summary: Turbo S not as crap as the new carrera, Turbo the better buy.
It all feels a bit 'meh' for what is, probably, the fastest car on the UK Road.
Sorry Carl , not that it matters but it's a Lava , 100% . It's a really great colour , it can look red in certain lights and full on orange in others .really nicely shot film, its becoming an art form all on its own right with the drone footage and all.

Looks a bit dodgy IMO in that colour. Agate or black and the turbo S looks superb. I wonder if we will see more of these on the road now that the Carrera has gone turbo. Sat in a C2S at the OPC launch night - it was £110k! A decent spec 4S must be knocking on 110-115k? When the GTS arrives I'd imagine with PCCB's, tinsel and baubles it will be over 120k. Sounds a lot (145k) but the Turbo is a lot of car for the money.
And i wouldn't like to try and drift a turbo-s on the road

I'd love one - always have done. I can't think of anything which has more 'do everything' ability in such a well packaged and accessible bundle
I enjoy Chris' videos but they are all very slidey - which is super car porn and does a great job of showing off the chassis balance and handling - but who, journos aside ever gets to drive like that? There is no road in the world where you can indulge lurid 80mph slides - and it gets you flagged at a track day pretty damned quickly.
Most folks doesn't have the ability to hire a circuit for the day to paint black lines all over it so it's a completely useless and unrepeatable demonstration of the cars capability

Hard to tell if he really likes it or not but worth a watch

Someone does need to teach Mr. Harris to straighten the front wheels when he is sideways if he wants to drift a Turbo properly. If you drift it like you would a RWD with the front wheels pointed in the direction of travel, as he is, the Turbo electronics move power to the front wheels and straighten the car up, which is why he isn't achieving his usual sustained big angle drifts....http://www.topgear.com/videos/chris-harris-drives/...

Pretty much as you'd expect?
Hugely fast, hugely secure, will be fun if you provoke it but ultimately it's a great allrounder rather than being the best Sports car.
One thing I'm keen to ask the experts on here - in the in-car shots Harris appears to sit very close to the wheel - his arms appear very bent.
Is that his style (for drifting?), is that the recommended posture, has he got very short legs, is the angle of the camera misleading etc etc?
cheers
Its pretty much a classic racing position. I sit upright with the seat back almost virtical, pull the wheel as close as i can towards me and the seat as close as comfortable to the wheel. I find this the most comfortable position on the road or track Hugely fast, hugely secure, will be fun if you provoke it but ultimately it's a great allrounder rather than being the best Sports car.

In a heavy tin-top with a lot of leverage needed, and relatively a lot of steering input required, then yes. NASCAR style...In a single seater, which is lighter and more responsive, I'd still want to be sitting as low as possible and a bit more more 'stretched out'

Agreed. I should have qualified Thant statement by saying my ideal seating position in tin tops. In a single seater, which is lighter and more responsive, I'd still want to be sitting as low as possible and a bit more more 'stretched out'
Leaving aside and colours and seating position, fascinating though all that is , and returning to the car.
Does anybody own one? I'd be interested in your experiences. Always wanted a turbo as a daily but never sure because people seem to respect them but not love them. Toyed with a gen 2 Turbo S but instead bought a gen 2 R8 V10 plus, which is equally ballistic but makes an awesome sound and feels very special place to sit. Perhaps not the last word in driver involvement though, and doesn't have rear seats, but great for a daily car.

I'm happy with it...looks spectacular..! I've saved some weight too, I only have 1 seat..! (By the way, in the context above, its doesn't not don't )
For completeness (and before Mr Demon responds), in the context above it's "it's" not "it's"...If there are two things I cannot abide they are sloppy pedantry and Lava Orange.
