My Boxster GTS will soon be 3 years old and time for a change, looking at a Targa.

Anyone know when the GTS will be re launched as no longer available for sale on any 911 versions.

Expected end of this year I think. 991.1 Targa GTS is a rare car....most OPC's only had one or two allocations.

I like it very much too. I think I read you can order it through OPC Mayfair, although only a couple of cars coming to UK at approx £130k

OPC Mayfair also had this limited edition targa a year or so ago

Six made IIRC at about the £140k mark. Actually saw one (in Mayfair naturally) a couple of weeks ago.

Goes wihout saying...

When I write "I've never seen....." it should be fairly obvious that I'm not talking about what anyone else has seen...
But for the benefit of those that struggle with english.... ALL my comments on PH to date have been my opinion and I respect others have difernet tastes/opinions. I didn't join to argue or dominate everyone in to my way of thinking. I joined to comment on car news, and add my opinon, when asked for....or sometimes even when it's not hehe

But you do tend to pop up regularly on the Porsche forums commenting on black wheels, at the end of the day it is down to the taste of the owner. I think the black centerlocks look great but not on all colours, the blue one above is not a good match but on agate grey they look fantastic.

For what it's worth I don't like black wheels either. I think they blend into the tyre and vanish in the arches. More so in photos though, they do look a lot better in the flesh. And on certain colour cars.

They do look better in real life than in pics - Bought a Porsche with black rims at some point and thought I would change those immediately - in the end they looked good enough that I could not be bothered. Still not a big fan though

not for me still, they look 'better' if you have OCD and detailing brushes and stop every 25 miles for a quick clean...but otherwise they're a fad soon to end...well, I have hope....

I wouldn't neccessarily go bling chrome either...they won't look worse and no matter how dirty they get you'll still see the design of them, but they take some cleaning too, although they will go well with bling clear rear lenses should you have them...

On the contrary, satin black does not show the dirt or brake dust and I find that a quick spray with wheel cleaner and then a jet wash every couple of weeks and they look perfectly fine. Unfortunately I was not in a position to specify my own choice of options as it was a stock car and an impulse purchase. Maybe you can spec some standard ones on your next one.

To be honest all black wheels don't look good in photos very often, but in the flesh they can look great.

It has got to be Gen1 with the sports exhaust, and colour to sample. I had to wait a year but it was worth it.

Done properly! congrats on that example!

When I order my first (let alone next) I will indeed be sure to spec (or change) to a silver finish.
My most relevant example was a Prodrive Brera with the standard spec gorgeous dark, dark 19"s...to go with the metallic black, on a sunny day post wash, the car looked spectacular but to keep it that way was a right pita...
Satin black I guess are less of a problem coming in a finish that for all intents and purposes looks like they factory applied layer of brake dust all over them, even when clean the sun is refused a surface from which to highlght the design, imo.

The new Design Edition looks interesting...
