New 991 R review
Discussion
When I drive my 4.0 and 991 GT3 RS back to back it is the "rawness" that is the biggest difference. The front end grip and turn-in is the biggest difference. The 4.0 does get floaty at high speed (Up Eau Rouge) whereas the 991 RS stays planted. The (relative) flotiness gives you a feeling where the the limits are in the 4.0 whereas the GT3 RS simply snaps without much warning if you beyond the laws of physics. I think the rear wheel steer and the aero all adds to this. Whereas an average driver can go much faster in the 991 RS it takes a real exprienced driver to take out the max of the 4.0 - hence the steering input in the video etc. I love them both but they ar two diffrent cars. Having driven the "R" I think it sits somewhere in-between these two extremes.

Richard and Richie, you're both too kind. I hope you are both well ?
Richie, I recently saw an image of your garage, I couldn't help but notice it still contained two cars .....
Richard, I suspect your garage now contains considerably more than two cars ....
I'm deeply envious of you both, because as you know, my garage is currently empty ! ! The old adage you don't appreciate what you've got until it is gone, is now proving very apt (however looking on the bright side I now own a large slab of concrete and copious amounts of bricks too)
I'm well thanks - happy to share if it helps Richie, I recently saw an image of your garage, I couldn't help but notice it still contained two cars .....

Richard, I've no intention of sharing my bricks OR my concrete with you. Damn cheek !!!
You tight bugger - you know I love a brick , especially those re claimed ones - they just take the mortar in a far more analogue way - far better than those new fangled high tech bricks. Also , because they're scarce they seem to be getting more and more expensive (see what I did there) You never were any good at sharing - fair enough I'll keep my crappy cars to myself
