Never had a problem - but I mince about like miss Daisy on the road. 964 gets the most smiles though.
Apart from the hot hatch brigade wanting to race I've not had a problem when driving my 964 either, in fact a couple of guys in a highways van pulled over and waved me past last week.

I have more of a problem with the Audi Estate, especially from geriatrics unable to comprehend "merge in turn" where a dual carriageway merges into a single lane. As my wife said, "you driving up the outside lane of an half mile queue made you a queue jumper"

Well, look at it this way.

Well signed I presume? Half a mile,(that's a lot of cars), patiently waiting, coming to the end of a DC, then you, as admitted, charge up the outside.....

At the heart of it lies the British attitude to queueing. Be patient, wait your turn...etc. Just like the Post Office or Tescos.

Or perhaps just follow the Highway Code and merge in turn (thereby avoiding doubling the length of any queue...)

It works in theory but in practice it just doesn't, as said above its due to the article of someone pushing in. Fwiw I just queue up which I realise is contributing to the problem but I don't want any issues going down the side.

Really? Where have you been driving it? Pedestrianised streets or up one ways? smile I've got a couple of Caymans - one has Porsche written down the side (I nearly removed it at order) and the other has a conspicuous wing yet I've never had anything like this.

Test driving a 987 in 2014 an M3 driver courteously moved out of my way.

I've noticed other Porsche drivers don't wave back when I acknowledge them?

Are some of US the problem?
If that was me, I'm sorry. smile

I don't generally expect it and then it's too late if someone does.

I always assume anyone flashing me is acknowledging my excellent driving skills wink

Member of the hot hatch brigade here!
People seem to move out of the way of my current Clio, don't get let out at junctions often mind you. Most stuff moves out of the way of it on track mind you. It's quite quick for a little Clio and it's caught out a few bigger cars who think they are going to just leave it (a 996 C2 comes to mind hehe )

In my old MR2 Turbo basically everyone let me out at junctions, one thing I've noticed though is exotic stuff doesn't ever seem to want to have play with the MR2 whereas the Clio a lot seem to be up for it. Suppose its because with a Jap car especially one with a turbo it could be making any amount of power.

If the other people waiting in the line of single traffic didnt have the common sense to merge into a queue closer to the hold up then more fool them.
It only needs the use of common sense but that is so often sadly lacking these days.

Indeed. Worse is when you get some 'highway warrior' that decides to block the outside line hundreds of metres before the lanes need to merge...

Oh the irony.

There’s another common sense theory. When you know that two lanes are merging into one, you join the inside lane at the end of the queue allowing the inside lane to move quicker. Courtesy is one thing but nobody likes a smart ass, a queue jumper or somebody who thinks they’re privileged. The inside lane queue is always longer than the outside lane queue, so you and Sidicks are outvoted. tongue out

So why haven't you and the other drivers carried on towards the lane closure before merging in turn? There would be no difference in speed if you actually merged at the front end instead of the back of the queue and then you wouldn't be leaving a lane free for other motorists to use which obviously annoys you so much.

Half hour into ownership of my 997 C2, I was moving slowly in traffic and saw some lady gawping at my car. It was from 911V so very nicely prepared. That made me feel somewhat uncomfortable because I am very discreet by nature. Next day Mrs Juice and I drove up to the lakes from London via a stopover in Stoke. Some dude in a transit van gave me the dirtiest look at a traffic lighted roundabout. Looked like he wanted to exact revenge for something. So I pulled away fast enough for him not to be a threat but without going too fast.

But otherwise, fine. No issues at all. I drive sensibly and generally am let out at junctions etc. You get the odd person coming into your lane without indicating etc but I think that's down to poor driving skills rather than an aversion to porsche drivers.

Thanks to everyone who has gone off topic on this subject. As usual, a mixed and lively response.

The Highway code is quite clear. Check out 134 (general) and 288 (road works).

Last night my missus and I in separate cars were making progress on some roads we know very well near my in laws in derbyshire ahead of me was my missus who I had just caught up after a fuel stop. In front of her were three cars. My missus moved over, and radioed that it was safe for me to move past her as she knew I would be looking to enjoy the last 10 miles or so of a very long boring drive up through 300 miles of managed motorway 50mph drudgery.

Very nice, thank you darling. Drop a cog, go around her. Nice.

A few moments later, she pulls off to go a different way because the dog doesn't want to be thrown around a country lane and much prefers to trundle along the a road. Fair play. See you at home love.

The car now directly in front of me was a mini of some description who was following the car in front of him a little too closely. No worries, I'll overtake them both. The lead saw car was about three car lengths from the middle one. No oncoming traffic, so I pull out planning to drive smoothly past both of them. Start going for the overtake on the first one and as I'm level with his drivers door the fkING IMBECILE plants his foot to the floor, beeps his horn and starts flashing headlights at me, whilst the second one slams his brakes on and swerves to hog the middle of the road!!!! So I'm on the wrong side of the road, going for an overtake with two morons about to crash into each other because they are too busy trying to prevent me getting past?!!!?! What the fk kind of CRACK have they been smoking?! Anyway, I think, hmmm, they must have seen me go past my missus and think I'm some sort of boy racer idiot, fair enough I'll just be patient and sit here until he moves out the way.

Take another look over the hedgerows and drystone walls into the distance for the next few bends, determine still no oncoming traffic and I know there are no turnings or side roads, so I quite happily sit in the oncoming lane for a few hundred meters until tt in the middle car decides to move back over so I can merrily go on with my overtake. All the while headlights flashing and horns tooting at me. But no. The guy doesn't move. And now there is an oncoming car. What?! Ok, I'll have to pull in behind him. Nope. tt in the mini has decided to sit three inches from his bumper. Right. Anchors on, outbrake both of them, slot in behind again.

Oncoming car gone, road widens. No oncoming cars for a long long way (nice straight road and we are at the top of the hill). This time I don't bother indicating or moving out. I just drop three cogs, bury my foot into the carpet and drive past both of them before they know what's happened. Fair enough.

The guy in the front car - who until this point was probably completely unaware of the whole situation, then slams his brakes on as I'm behind him too. At this point I'm so incensed at the extraordinary stupidly of the three drivers I've encountered I accelerate to a bit of a silly speed and disappear off into the distance. A few miles later I'm at home and the car is in the garage and I'm still trying to figure out what the fk the problem was.

Then it hit me. I was in the Porsche. 30k miles in various porsches and literally the first time in any country I've ever had this kind of reaction and all in the pace of about 5 minutes. Very, very unpleasant!

ETA It was national speed limit and the three cars were doing less than 40mph.

Heading down the A1 last night and a BMW 2 Series people carrier was just the same, several people undertook it but the driver seemed oblivious even when that happened.
I wonder how many millions are spent putting third and fourth lanes onto roads for so many drivers to then turn them back into single or 2 lane roads by their poor driving habits.
