0-60mph relevance???

Frankly what would the point be one might be a little bit more but how can a punter know what 5bhp per tonne more means?

Why?!If you see what they do to extract those 0-60 times, especially in 4WD cars, you'd realise they are utterly meaningless. No-one really treats their car like that.
Agree that 30-70 is a much better measure. Or even (but no-one actually does it) 10-70 - still a 60mph increment, but no unrealistic clutch torture necessary.

It does not really drive my buying habits. I like the GT3RS and have some of them, but clearly not really close to the acceleration of a Turbo S, and in fact have a lower top speed than a GT3 also due to the aero. They just go around corners a little bit better.
I have now had a few cars with launch control...I think the first was the V10 M6. I never used it once. Tried it at a Porsche demo day on a Turbo S and, thought " that's interesting" , but cannot really see the merit of shredding tires to get off the line, assuming I am not on an F1 grid.
In terms of the impact on driveability of the car it really much more a matter of the skills of the driver when it comes down to it. On a track I am a mid range driver, not a competitive racer, and I see people in objectively slower cars who are quite a lot quicker on a circuit.
I suppose launch control is an equalizer if thats your thing and you like to go in a straight line. I generally know the rough standard performance of the cars I buy and in most cases they can perform beyond my ability, so the numbers are background rather than critical data.
