Chris must be very busy working on the car this morning, all doors to his unit down and probably has all his staff working away on turning it into a weapon. Text me when it is ready for a private viewing
You never looked close enough Ian, it's parked out of view!Having its 1st ever wash at lunchtime and i'm looking forward to seeing it clean for the first time! Oil & filter change this afternoon...

Gave the GT4 a bath at lunchtime today, you never really know a car until you've cleaned it in my opinion.
Love the shape and it doesn't have a single stone chip, mark or blemish which is a result! Also changed the engine oil and filter this afternoon now it's covered 1,030 miles. Hope for some dry weather this weekend for a drive out...

Glad I checked in on this thread - I remember when you had just bought your GTS and were thinking about MODs etc and remembered the front looked so much better with some GT3 aesthetic bits! How do you find the GT4 compares in terms of ride, feel and outright speed?
Have you thought of putting Paint Protection Film on your car?
I spy with my little eye a booster seat!!!
Small world - I'm in exactly the same position. Good spec manual 997GTS in white. 24k and getting tempted by GT4s. Hexagon certainly seem to try charging top dollar (although there was one in the dealer network a couple of weeks ago that was up at £72,995) - but what do they offer? Would appreciate a pm also with info on what they paid!
Thanks
Thanks

Yes, had the 997 GTS for nearly 2.5 years and enjoyed it very much. With the mods I did I found it to be my perfect spec, almost GTS'3 like LOL! My favourite mod was the GT3 / RS wheels which looked fantastic on the car and filled the rear arches like the original GTS wheels were never going to do...Ironically they are the only thing I now have left to sell!
Had PPF on my previous BMW 1M and to be honest I didn't like it, appreciate that the products may have come on in the last 4 years but always found it frustrating. Any stone chips would leave a scar on the film and it would mark easily when removing any stubborn dirt / insects. Think i'll just hang back from cars in front, save the money and put it towards painting the front if ever needed. Think the engine intake covers are the areas most prone to damage on the GT4.
So after only a few hundred miles in crappy weather I have to say that I love the GT4, it feels like a proper car and I can't wait for the temps to lift and the roads to be dry. Ride quality is a lot firmer than the GTS as expected and I prefer it, my wife doesn't but its not her car! Performance feels on a par with the GTS even though it has less BHP, its lighter and gives the impression (harder ride, louder exhaust etc) of being the quicker car and to be honest it has enough power for road use and its an easy thing to gather together once out of shape which at this time of year is fairly frequent. Feel is very subjective and maybe too early to make the call but so far its an easier car to hustle than the 997, the steering lacks the 997's organic feel but is still very capable and in no way spoils the car. The gear-change is a delight as are the PCCB brakes (if a little noisy in operation).
Overall i'm very happy with the change, VERY HAPPY!

Yours being a manual I would expect you would have no issues in selling it quickly either privately or hassle free to a specialist in the trade. Suggest putting a call into Tom @ 991 Virgin (great guy), Jonathan or Tim @ Hexagon and JZM and see what offers you get. Alternatively try privately but that can bring some elements of hassle and associated risk. Thanks
I agreed a price with Hexagon on the Tuesday and they collected the car on the Friday with no hassle at all.

Allow me to revive this thread.
I am in exactly the same position currently: I was given an offer on my manual 997 C2 GTS coupe (with 44000 km), which is 10% higher than what I paid for it end of 2019 when it had 28000km. It is very tempting to accept the offer and jump into a 981 GT4. It might be a unique opportunity because I drive the GTS almost daily (about 10000km/year) and I doubt whether I will get this price within 3-4 years time when the car has about 80000km. The GTS is also five years older than the GT4, so more likely for things starting to fail.
I wonder how the 997 GTS and 981 GT4 compare as daily drivers?
