FF as a daily and a Renault Clio es 200 as weekend car. Unfortunately no Porsche at the moment - a situation hat will have to be rectified

Daily driver is the highly economical 4.2 litre V8 Audi S4 Avant, had it over 2 years now, and stuck 26k on the clock, fantastic car, 366bhp, and such a lovely V8 growl...996 Turbo for weekends...and sometimes weekdays!

I've got a GT3 for the weekends and a E30 318is as a daily driver.

It's probably not the most sensible car when doing 20k miles, but more interesting than lots of more modern alternatives

Haha that's good going. Obviously you don't find it too big for UK roads. Interested how you get on with it?

Got this last year as my daily driver:

GTI Mark 7 Performance Pack

130 mile round trip every day, so far racked up 20k miles in just over 6 months.

It's a great car, quick, really rides and handles brilliantly. Fully loaded, brilliant Satnav, radar controlled cruise control, pano sunroof....

So far, showing 42mpg average which for a 231bhp turbo 2 litre car is amazing.

Love it smokin

Neither of mine can be classed as a daily, as I am able to walk to work..

I've recently swapped a 997.1 Turbo for a 997.2 Turbo S, but like the OP I've found the Audi S3 a perfect partner - the difference being it was bought ex-demo in 2003, and it's outlasted two 'main' cars so far (a RS4, and the 997.1) The S3 has a few subtle modifications, namely a remap, better brake pads and a slight drop on H&R springs..perfect for running around London and the odd work trip, and even used it to bring some beer back from Bruges this time last year.

They're amazing cars these. Can't speak highly enough about them. I think the model you have may even be the sweet spot. A bit too much power in CS and CSS IMO on typical wet and leafy UK roads. Its the damping in particular that astonishes me - not many cars flow like a Golf GTI PP. Very nice thumbup

Fortunate enough to not need a daily driver (live and work in central Manchester), but that will be changing soon.

997 GTS for the fun stuff and Mrs C has a Golf diesel, which we also use for the family runaround (5 month old baby) - surprisingly well specced and for £83 a month on lease no grumbles. Just wish I'd have gone for something bigger, babies need a lot of stuff.

Hesitated before posting this as I didn't want to be accused of showing off, but here it is:

Cheers thumbup

I honestly think that on a cross country hoon I could peddle faster in this than in my 911.....

I'm not sure what that says about me.....or the car hehe

I do think that technically speaking this is probably one of the best options, but somehow kind of too new and too fast, I think a good porsche second daily has to be sporty, fun to drive, but is much more about handling than power to allow for a tiny bit of economy, something like those old clio 172/182....

Somehow I think you need at least three, one porsche, one smaller handling machine, and then a van/audi estate for the other stuff/windsurfing....But then what about something for the kids to learn to drive in, Okay so you probably need four as a minimum......
