Fair play to you for having 2 GTS and wanting to drive a GT3 everyday. i hope you get 1
I'm in the same boat,

Cayman GTS sold for Boxster GTS sold for a 991 GT3 at overs (only 20k not 60 what they were going for) I've now put 11000 miles on this since June and 0plan to put another 15k on it this year.

My OPC have said the the production will be limited especially in the beginning and I don't know if I'm on the 'list' or not? who knows? I have a feeling that I might get lucky.

If the UK gets 500 cars then history will repeat itself.

If we get 500 GT3 and 500 T models, will they be viewed as equally desirable?

If we get 1000 (or more) of each, at what point do the higher numbers depress the entire GT3 market?
Demand is in the 1000's from people that want to own it because they want to make a quick £20 to £50k. I'd say " real demand" from people that want to own them long term and drive them is probably around 1000 cars. That's roughly 30 cars per OPC. I reckon each one has that many genuine customers that want one.

Very much doubt the UK gets anything like that many cars.

Porsche GB sold just over 12,000 cars last year so in that context 300 or 400 GT3's sounds about right...any more and 10% of your sales are your halo product! If Porsche GB sales match Porsche AG sales split about 2,000 of those are 911's....that's across all variants. So each dealer sells roughly 50 911's a year. Not many is it!

You rarely see 911's for sale at dealers these days! I reckon a lot of the old 911 brigade are now driving Range Rover Sports and Cayenne Turbos just because they are so capable.

Hopefully Porsche and their dealership network have taken the appropriate steps to ensure that the flippers do not get their hands on the GT Cars. We will have to wait and see. Should the new GT3 start appearing in the classifieds it will be easy for Porsche to trace where they were sourced from and then penalise the supplying dealer accordingly. I for one sincerely hope so.

Those days are long gone. Such is porsche's reputation nowadays, (911's in particular), the lower the production run, the more desirable the car will become.

Runs of 300 today cars would fetch even more money.

Don't know the exact figure , but probably 75 % of "used" GT3's have been sold via the official Porsche network- I doubt if that will change with the new car .

Agree with this. I don't see how the current values are sustainable. Where does the new car slot in? Above current values and they are left untouched? Can't see how that works. There are only so many buyers of GT cars at a premium, even if they are now easier to drive and PDK'd,

The R production numbers are well above 996RS, and yet it's seen as 'unobtainable'. As soon as values start to go backwards and people can't sell cars, I see the bubble deflating pretty quickly and the future order book doing the same.

That's exactly why Porsche will need to carefully manage the level of supply.

Porsche will; their marketing is simply brilliant, nobody can refute that.

I really hope I get one.

No paint protection film stuff
No ceramic coatings

Just amazing Welsh roads and a grin as wide as a Cheshire cats!

Just over 2 weeks till I go to Geneva. Hope they're actually going to launch it there!
For anyone that's going, the food at the back of the Bentley stand is worth seeking out!

Yet some would say 'ease' of driving and PDK make the car LESS desirable.

So even more incredible that still the premiums continue more than three years on.

Testament to the cars extraordinary abilities relative to its price point new.

Too big and too fast for welsh roads IMV. Had one, and in comparison to the smaller lighter cars ...light years away as regards fun. If I lived at Spa, then different story. Fantastic car though, suits PDK for track.

I think I need to show you some of the roads i drive on Robbo wink I've been driving them for 30 years in all sorts of cars and can confirm that the 911 is perfectly suitable and in no way too wide if you're a confident driver. The GT4 is the same width pretty much don't forget and the Welsh roads are deemed its natural habitat.

Granted the GT3 is probably too quick at full chat but you don't need to be at 9k rev to enjoy yourself. Plus with the manual gearbox that is going to be offered, one can enjoy playing with ones gears smile

And it's not just Porsche, add in McLaren, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Bentley, AM, Mercedes etc plus all the niche players and that is a huge number of very special high end cars, surely the second hand market will start to dictate the pricing.
