The 991.1 GT3 has already dropped and I can see that being at about 100k for a mildly spec'd car when the new one is launched or starts to seep into the used market.The 997.1 will be about the same price but the 997.2 will be more expensive than the 991.1. Its quite possible that he the PDK only and engine worries will hamper the 991.1 GT3 going forward which in turn will only boost the 991.2 GT3 and 997 values.
My thoughts are that with the 991.2 having had an extensively tested engine and being offered with a manual gearbox means that you can effectively have a 'new' if slightly softer version of a 997.2 GT3 albeit without the Metzger.
"Already dropped" Many Gen 1 cars - which are 3 years old now bearing in mind - are still pretty much list. That's pretty impressive given, as someone has said, there are loads of them, not to be mention numerous other specialist performance cars to buy currently.
It's really going to be interesting to see what happens with the arrival of a manual GT3 though.

I've been driving them for 30 years in all sorts of cars and can confirm that the 911 is perfectly suitable and in no way too wide if you're a confident driver. The GT4 is the same width pretty much don't forget and the Welsh roads are deemed its natural habitat.Granted the GT3 is probably too quick at full chat but you don't need to be at 9k rev to enjoy yourself. Plus with the manual gearbox that is going to be offered, one can enjoy playing with ones gears

Without wishing to take this thread off on too much of a tangent, which are your favorite roads in Wales? I've been driving them for 30 years in all sorts of cars and can confirm that the 911 is perfectly suitable and in no way too wide if you're a confident driver. Spoke to an OPC sales manager recently and when I mentioned my interest in the GT3, he immediately asked what gearbox I wanted and after telling him PDK, his interest in my enquiry increased. I took this as a sign of improved odds of allocation assuming all manual cars were already taken. Perhaps there are no manuals?The next GT3 won't have the manual option. Why do people keep repeating there will be a manual GT3 option on the new GT3 without knowing ? Yes Porsche have a host of new cars at the motorshow, but a manual badged GT3, I doubt.

with the 991 RS in many multiples of production vs 997 RS, to me it seems that it is plausible the 991.2 gt3 could be unlimited and everyone who has expressed an interest will EVENTUALLY get one. Porsche will be silly to say it out loud. but like the 991 RS and GT4, they will stealthily (maybe not so stealthy) make much more during the production run. Afterall, it is on the same bloody production line. I have been told to watch out for Geneve Gt3 being something most pundits haven't expected.......
At least, after the first 6 months, the overs will diminish and we can have a gentler normal depreciation cycle

Also I think that was not his point, my understanding is it related to having to beg a dealer to sell you a car and then have endless value/what do <i have to do to get a car discussions on forums

I grew up on a farm on the side of snowdon so my playground for years was the whole of North Wales in hot hatches. A good run is the entire a470 from North to South which offers a real mix of fast and challenging A road but for twists and turns you can't really beat the roads around Porthmadog on to Beddgelert so a498 which is really special and either on to Caernarfon a4085 and 4086 to llanberis or the other way towards Llanrwst and Betws.
Another good run is the A525 from coedpoeth down through the Llandegla moors then the A494 towards Bala.
Also seek out the a5104 too if you're up that way.
There are so many to choose from including the a4391 from Knocking through to Bala if coming from the midlands.
When I drive from Cardiff to Oulton park I go from Builth on the A483 right the way up which has some good bits too.
I used to do Cardiff to Porthmadog in about 2h 45 mins years ago. That was going for it in something like a Corrado VR6 or E46 and E92 M3 or a B7 RS4. It's about 160 miles of pure fun, especially in the 911.
