OPC won't do a deal on a second hand Boxster for cash but have hinted that if I take finance there may be some negotiation.

So on a 40k Boxster what do you think I could get if I take finance?

Obviously I won't tell the salesman that it will be paid off straight away.

You should be getting some form of discount regardless of how you pay, unless the spec is extraordinary walk away. Alternatively you can tell them you are going to try another opc and then compare offers.

Well the first quote has come back with an additional 1200 added on for the 2 year warranty. Surely that is supposed to be included in the advertised price?

That is the car above.

Yes that should be included, on the invoice it's charged but it's part of the advertised price, it even states that in their advert!

Car looks stunning and is indeed an extraordinary spec, the only negative thing for me is the interior colour. That car has been for sale for several months and has been reduced so that's maybe why they aren't so willing to move.

Are you sure it has been sale for months? I was told it had just come in a few weeks ago. They did have another blue with the same wheels for sale a few weeks ago that had no nav. I would have definitely had that but it sold the day before I called.

yes the interior colour is questionable but I love the spec of the car and therefore am trying to 'love' the grey.

Rule number 2 play them at their own game. Take the finance and get a discount and then pay it off in full. Costs next to bugger all in interest.

I remembered that shade of blue for sale at that dealer when I was looking so could be another.

Sometimes it's best to see the interior in person it might surprise you. The leather dash would improve it I think.

Find another car of similar and spec and make them aware you are trying to do another deal on this as well. Then make them an offer and say you want to buy a car in the next 48 hours.

Give yourself some wiggle room, be realistic and they will come back to you.

I am trying to find something even vaguely similar but struggling. There is a private sale of a Cayman that I am interested in but its spec is just not as sporty, with no PSE, etc etc

Can someone explain why this spec is desirable? Is it the LSD thing and the fancy lights and colour. Genuine question

It's the combination of pse, pasm, sports chrono, sports plus seats, finding a car with these can be tough then throw in the interesting colour, super rare ptv and the bonus of bose, heated seats, paddles on wheel and carerra s wheels and you have a pretty special car.

As I said before though that interior may be a show stopper for some, something you need to see in person. It's missing the leather dash unfortunately which really raises the feel of the interior.

Sorry but the PASM and PSE is offset by a marmite grey interior.

OP do you live in Northern Ireland?

To your first question, 2 year warranty is in screen price so they are taking the piss listing that out.

No I live in Nottingham but it doesn't bother me popping over and collecting it. Just a shame I can't see the interior first without committing.

As for the listing of the warranty on top of the screen price lets just hope it was an oversight and he wasn't trying a sly one !

Whilst NI should not matter, I'm told (may no longer be the case) that HPI etc down the line is a ball ache; may have changed.

And if you think it was an oversight you are a damn sight more trusting of car dealers than I.
