Hi all, just a quick question.

My 981 S is currently in for a 'major' service at my local OPC. Just received a call and they said my spark plugs are due for a change and the drive belt is due for inspection, the cost of which will be in addition to the standard service cost.

Is this not something which should normally be included?

Nope, I believe they're "recommended extras" which are additional to the fixed price service charge but are required to maintain your warranty.

no. Plugs & belt change/check are added to servicing cost

Same with brake fluid and/or oil change.

Believe some OPC let you supply your own Mobil 1 which can reduce price.
Check the belt check vs replacement cost.

Seen threads where OPC check the belt FOC or the price between check/change is very small meaning people sometimes prefer to just replace it

They are correct, its an additional cost and dont forget the brake fluid!

At a guess: major service £500, spark plugs £400, brake fluid £100, aux belt inspection (free at some OPCs).

Is the 'drive belt' different to the 'polyrib belt'? As the later inspection/adjustment is one of the standard major service items.

OP please report back the additional costs they have charged you for these.

Is there a similar document for the additional maintenance items??

Away at the moment but will do once I get back on Sunday.

As an aside, had the sports exhaust fitted at the same time as the service - wow, totally transformed the whole driving experience, 100% worth it! Really pleased with the overall spec on the car now!

Aren't they shown in the service book?

How much? I'm also considering this so interested in cost.
