997.2 Rear Light Failure
Discussion
Writing on behalf of my brother, as he doesn't have a clue about forums.
But he has a 997.2, nice car but the rear lights are full of condensation, to a point where when we opened them up, the circuit board in one of them had rust spots. On this light unit, the light doesn't fully function, indicator, reverse and flog light work but no rear light or brakes illuminate.
Is this common on a 997.2 and is it possible to get the light repaired ?
thanks in advance

I feel his pain, my 997.2 has the clear LED tail lights and both have condensation in them, this is due to the joint between the clear and coloured plastic failing and letting in water.
The units have an eye watering price of around £900 each so glad to have an opc warranty. The warranty only covers replacement if there are drops of water inside, light misting is not covered.
The other issue is the lights on my car have yellow colour LEDs and the replacement one has clear LEDs so they don't match. I am hoping Porsche will agree to replace both units so they look the same..
