Lots of brand new Porsches immediately available
Discussion
Hopefully for the prospective owners Porsche have sorted out the issued with the Taycan, ie their first full EV, as from the owners I know they won't go near another Porsche EV again.
The Macan does look a great car, and will clearly appeal to many company car owners due to the BIK/tax benefits of such, so will no doubt sell in massive numbers, which will hopefully allow Porsche to continue to build 'proper' cars

great sales man is oliver. certainly not the case in uk. cars available at lots of opc's for end of year in both 4 and turbo models. even got offered a taycan gt slot yesterday, so they're not off to a flying start! i think you should be heading up uk sales unrepentant, from how hard you seem to be working to convince us that the porsche sales are in such great shape.

10,000 orders sounds like a lot until you think you’d normally be looking at six months to order a Macan (ballpark) and 10,000 orders is about six weeks sales of the current model. Admittedly the ICE car is still being made for some markets but I think EU production is halting.Cheib said:

Really? Our lead time on a Macan is 3 months and that includes a month of shipping. All Porsche production is in the EU, in Germany or Slovakia. unrepentant said:

We are talking about Porsches. It's my understanding that Unrepentant said that 90% of his customers paid cash. Maybe this was just for the GT cars but I'm confident that he will update us on this ....
I don’t remember saying that. Certainly a lot of 911 customers do pay cash but the majority of Taycan, Macan and Cayenne buyers pay with some sort of finance whether it be loan or lease. Some also pay cash.unrepentant said:

I’d say from order to a car getting delivered here is five or six weeks if you get lucky.

The Macan was always going to do well it's the first properly "nice" electric SUV the yummy mummy brigade will be queueing round the block for these things to run to yoga classes in.
The Taycan effectively being a saloon car went out of fashion years ago. I thought the Taycan looked cool but Porsche fooled us as it's just a fancy Panermera that nobody wants over it's defleeted. The Macan is a much more mass market car. I think it's expensive but it seems Porsche are still able to extract money from their customers without too much trouble.
Will it do overs? I think so for a short time when they first land!

Just intuitively it isn't possible to close the line overnight and reconfigure it to create different cars. There will be some time to change over, during which they can't make cars.
So in that sense it's a fact, how long the period is I don't know!
my understanding is there is no significant changes that would require any change to the production line. the body is pretty much the same, with main change to front and rear bumbers. 992.1 was designed to accommadate battery for .2 hybrid. i was offered a .1 car build slot for may/june a few weeks back so guess it will be a case of usual factory shut down in august and cars .2 cars delivered in september. So in that sense it's a fact, how long the period is I don't know!

There will also be no new 992.1s for a while whilst they reconfigure the factory so maybe that explains some of the build up?
How do you know this as a fact? Koln-RS said:
Yes, I was also told that April would be the final month for 992.1 production, and they will all be spec locked by now. In fact some colours and some options have already been discontinued.
992.2 launch can’t be far away, but understand that UK deliveries will start some months after.
Also know two people who elected to go for a late 992.1 in preference to waiting for a 992.2, on the basis that they didn’t like the ‘spy shots’ and an assumption that it might be another step more “digitalised” plus a further price rise.
