They likely have been building hundreds of 992.2s over the last 1-2 years for testing, validation and the latter ones may already have been built on the production line to test the switchover. The production line is mainly bolting together a set of larger parts/components eg engines built by hand in-house, gearboxes/brakes/seats/dash arriving from external suppliers.

Yes, I was also told that April would be the final month for 992.1 production, and they will all be spec locked by now. In fact some colours and some options have already been discontinued.

992.2 launch can’t be far away, but understand that UK deliveries will start some months after.

Also know two people who elected to go for a late 992.1 in preference to waiting for a 992.2, on the basis that they didn’t like the ‘spy shots’ and an assumption that it might be another step more “digitalised” plus a further price rise.
We have orders for 992.1 that are confirmed with freeze dates in May that are due to enter production mid June. So they are producing LHD cars at least until well into June.

Likely fewer than that.
50-80 was a common figure for most major manufacturers.
But my experience (ex Ford) is a decade out of date. Likely to be fewer these days due to computer / simulator / rig testing developments.

I'd be fearing that too. But in any case i'm hanging on to my 991.2 manual. :-)

I’m in a similar position.

I also have a 991.2 Manual, that replaced a 991.2 GT3 Touring (that I didn’t really get on with for regular use).

I’ve had a new 911 every 2-3 years since the late ‘80s, so had a few. But very fond of the 991.2 and been struggling to find the justification to move to the 992. Especially as the now massive ‘cost to change’ doesn’t really make sense.

However, as others have said, the next gen 992.2 may be moving the 911 still further from its analogue origins, so decided to take a 992.1 whilst I could still spec one to my preference.

Would have been happy with a ‘base’ 992 - but no Manual option.
Next consideration was a ‘T’ - but no pccb option.
So, ending up with a subtly spec’d ‘S’ Manual - due next month.
Interestingly - got the weight down to just 1428kg.

Same, had all the great 911’s from 88 onwards, have a 991.T manual for all the reasons above.. surprisingly brilliant 911..

I think that's a publicity stunt, no one I know would touch one at the silly money there asking, as for a Taycan............................ not a hope for it, biggest flop on the planet.

You wouldn’t know, people on here are obviously more clued in with cars and the details behind the glossy marketing…the vast majority of the car buying public aren’t…
I’d imagine Joe Bloggs walking in could quite easily get influenced with the sales pitch!

Well we're sold out into 2025 and have a waiting list. But I'm sure you know better.

Dealership I popped in to today was rammed with customers, and queuing to see sales persons..
I’ve heard this now from a couple of OPC’s, so perhaps some aspect of the current issues are starting to be solved??

Apologies for not wasting through 272 pages, but for stock new Cayennes, what APR might I expect to be charged and any ideas re GFVs? I can't see any finance calculator la on the Porsche website unless I'm being dim? Would rather not a 2 hour round trip to establish it's well out of budget!
