My father in law was there last week and was lucky enough to be taken out in(and to drive) that very RT12. By all accounts a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Does anybody know an approx cost of the Kompressor conversion mentioned in that review.

I seem to remember a cost mentioned in an old GT Porsche magazine, but can't remember what they were.

Adamt possibly

The driver of the CTR Yellow Bird in the Fascination Nurburgring video is Stefan Roser, nickname 'Mr Opposite Lock'.

As much a driving legend in Germany as The Stig is in the UK, Stefan learned his car control on a VW Beetle on snow and ice and says that a 911 is the same, just faster! He was Ruf's resident test driver for many years and is now a test driver for German car mag Auto Motor & Sport.

Wonder if Porsche has ever considered taking Ruf onboard as Merc did with AMG, to create a skunkworks a la BMW 'M'division?

Probably considers this unnecessary what with churning out GT3/GT2/RS models, but Ruf has consistently turned out some stonking cars that push the boundaries.

Water-cooled cars notwithstanding, I still fantasise about a Yellow Bird (no, Im not shopping for a mail-order bride).

Weissach is Porsche's 'BMW M divsion'. They have the imput into the GT3, RS etc with regards chassis, suspension etc.

Weissach is the dev & eng center for all Porsches. OTOH, all Porsches are 'M' or 'AMG' versions anyway

reminds me...must buy Lottery ticket. Great write-up. Car sounds amazingly tractable. Never really took to the Porsche thing but this reads like something else- definitely in another colour though.

Great driving (if a little dramatic), but white socks.

Inexcusable.

Very impressive that you can change gears so easily without using the clutch.
