Lupo GTI is quick and cheerful and I want one too.

I bought a 968 CS as run around that goes on the track too.( Very cheap for the build quality).

Saves putting mileage on the 964 RS.

997GT3 RS in Viper on the wish list!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Skoda Superb with the VW/Audi 2.8 petrol and tiptronic.Absolutely fabulous car with every extra. In many ways I prefer it to my 997(quieter,more comfortable),and the look on peoples faces when you pass them at 150mph in a Skoda is priceless!!(but only on private roads officer)

Like 'kiko' I use a Smart FourTwo as a runabout. The Brabus version, which I am just about to get chipped(by Smarts-r-Us) to 101 bhp! Reasonably economical, easy to park, fun to drive - providing that you keep the front tyres pumped up high to reduce understeer.

It's certainly at the opposite end of the spectrum to an Aero 8...

I recommend either a Focus ST or an E46 330ci Coupe

1973 Lancia Fulvia 1.6HF. Fantastic fun. Ridiculous Italian driving position. Seats three. Great noise. Second best looking car on the planet (after 1973 911RS) (What was it about 1973?). And all for under £10k....and it'll be worth more soon when the few that remain rust away.

I use a Ford F150 SVT Lightning as my daily driver. Nothing like a heavy full frame vehicle for a little added protection during rush hour.

As a city dweller, I use a Piaggio 125cc scooter, faster than anything in traffic, always
first at traffic lights, park exactly in front of where I am going, and don't give a rats
arse about it, it can get scratched, stolen, whatever I have no emotional involvment to it.

On top of that, I am anonymous with the helmet, OK I won't have it valet parked when I go to my favorite bar on a Friday after work, but appart from that, it is unbeatable as a roundabout....

Doesn't go quite so well on the lawn, though J-L.

Crap - are you serious? Did I kill it? It wasn't that bad a fall.....my scars disappeared after a few weeks with minimal rehabilitation, though I suspect the emotional scars will be there a while yet. I keep getting Vietnamesque PTSS flashbacks and cold sweats. Probably best not sneak up on me for a while - especially if I look like I'm in the midst of an episode, as it could be dangerous.

In answer to the OP, an E38 7-series V8. For a car with most of the trimmings that cost its first owner over £50k, £3k is definitely cheap and it is run about and about, given only just run in when bought at 90k miles. Stick the box in 'S' mode and you got an old barge that will catch many a slim young thing

Kawasaki ZX12R, worth about £3.5k now (was £8k when new 6 years ago). Will do 195mph (apparently), 90mph in 1st gear yikes Insurance £275 per year fully comp. Makes my 993 turbo look like a 2CV.
