This car is probably the best set-up and looked after Mk1 GT3 in the UK
I know Richard Westbrook well and he said it was the best handling, quickest Mk1 he has ever had the pleasure of driving.

bizzarre. if you do a search, i think youll find that this has been said about a number of 3's by this chap. not questioning the validity, just the value of its 'uniqueness'.
no change of heart, i just dont feel i deserve a 48 grand car. i love it, utterly and completley, and it will be by far and away the best car i ever ever own, im just wondering if it isnt just an expensive over-compensation. im not thinking about selling it, but i am thinking about whether i belong in it.
zanzi was always my fave colour

Nervous, why not use at as it was intended....on track...that way you will learn a lot and justify owning the car, making you realise that in fact you cannot do without it.
It is the sensible option to buying a new Gt3 or Gt3/RS and suffering the depreciation.
I hope that helps for at least the next 10 minutes?

Maybe you have it out of your system??? We did tell you pre-purchase that it is happiest on track. I imagine a relatively small % of it's potential is being used on the daily commute?
I appreciate it is enough money to have tied up in a car, but once you get into trackdays you get such a kick that a track Porsche is perfectly justifiable,on the basis it could be worse, some idiots waste money on class A drugs etc......

Totally agree - get it on track ASAP.. You will never want to sell it. I don't know where you live but there is a number of the Titanic guys at Brands Hatch GP today.. If you can, get yourself over there and get some passenger rides - you won't be able to remove the smile in less than a week
Steve
no, i totally agree. i loved it at the nurburgring, it was one of my best times ever (once id stopped pooing myself). and again, youre right, it was a different animal on track altogether, it made so much more sense. and its by no means out of my system, i still love driving it everyday and learn a little more everytime i go for a drive (i do at least 500 miles a week) and theres nothing i want to replace it with, and theres nothing id like more than tracking it every weekend, hell, every day if i could. its not the car thats not everything it should be. the cars perfect. its one of the best ones >insertnamedrophere< has ever driven, apparently
anyway, im just musing here, it doesnt mean anything. shes not up for sale or anything.

Indeed, the GT3 is not for everyone. Although the GT3 has been refined for road use (in large part because of the 996 production refinements), it is in essence and at heart, a race car. Imho, if you're averse to the image of big wings, lairy paint schemes, bodykits, race decals, chowing bacon sarnies with Weissbier, then the GT3 may not be to ones liking. To drive one and relish the experience is one thing, but I think the ownership proposition is slightly different.
There's an element of madness about this car... and it's reflected in what a new one costs: at the end of the day, these are £90-100k track focussed machines designed to win races which have been made habitable and refined enough for the road. Anyone who is willing to spend £100k on a track-biased machine because they want the best modern race-proven engineering in their road car must be slightly mad. The madness is in the owner, not the car... and it's most evident when you visit a race factory like Manthey where grown men become boys again and the latest "stage 3" or K4xx mods are what we all secretly hanker after.
