Non-depressing second car ?

Why, when I should be worrying about finding a house, a new girlfriend, sorting out the post and the banking, does the objectively less important question of what to do about the car become the most important issue?
Madness...
Madness...
I'd skip the girlfriend for a while.... go for a whole string of 'no-committment' relationships (if you know what I mean - they generally last one night!), and spend the spare money on a tank of gas for the 964!
Paul,
I've had a 964 for two years & live in Wythenshawe, Manchester. I too was a bit wary about leaving it out on the street. In all honesty its not a car that will attract attension compared to more modern stuff that teenagers are into. I've had no trouble with mine. Its tough at first but (unless you car is really bling) I would suggest your 964 may not be as much as a target as you think. Just my opinion of course. Way it up against the cost + time of getting another motor + insurance + tax servicing etc.
Good luck which ever way you go.
Cheers
Steve

I loved both these cars, but only ever managed the Civic VTI!!
Don't buy something that is boring. I have a Mondeo 2.0 LPG for work and as much as I am trying to live with it, it is boring as shit! I just can't justify getting rid it's so cheap to run. After selling the 944 last year, I get more depressed each day I'm on this site. I have the Focus which is OK, but the wide always has that
Within 2 years I want another Porky, I don't care what I JUST WANT ONE

That is an excellent suggestion.
spow, I may try that as I've had no luck finding a lockup garage yet. Fingers crossed it will be ok!

VS, great while the 205 is, it's made of cardboard. Our man here will be spending most weekends fixing bits and pieces to keep it on the road! Fun yes, durable no!
Not true. Might not have germanic build quality, but I owned one for 12 months & 12k miles up until 2 yrs ago (from 80k miles to 92k miles) and only had one minor gripe in that time - the bushes on the starter motor wearing out (replacement from scrappy for £25).
Highly recomended. Think I might buy myself another soon, as I miss it so much.
