There's nobody over here besides the OPC to fit the exhaust , and they won't do it without the switch .. It's big mullah for them in terms of man hours , to run the wires .. But their excuse is that I couldn't possibly do a long journey with the PSE constantly on ... What utter tosh.

Anyway main thing is I managed to save a few pence on my warranty going forward .. Thanks y'all!!

perhaps we need to find you an excuse to come over to blightly for a hoon then... make a weekend of it, have your car taken care of one of the days - the money you would save would probably pay for the trip!

furious .. I've just taken a call from my OPC . 'Sorry Sir, we tried to buy the warranty going forward from when your current warranty expires in Feb. , but the warranty company won't accept the new warranty greater than 8 weeks before the original is due to expire'...
I tried to tell em they'd got it wrong , but it's not happening for me.

Yes call another one. I had to get mine from OPC Chester as Wilmslow wasn't FSA regulated at the time.

IS that 8 week limit the official word or have some of you bought the warranty outside of this limit?

Unless of course, Porsche have introduced this rule to avoid the influx of people buying the Warranty at the lower price...

not that they would pull something like that to make money of course..

does anyone know what the official line here is with the warranty increase ?
my OPC is saying they won't accept an order for a new warranty (mine expires first week in Jan 07)
Anyone know of a way around it ?
cheers

Not strictly true. This price is not across the board for all Porsches, or indeed all 911s. Just 911s owned by DucatiGary. The increase is to cover Range Rover courtesy car maintenance.

the jump over the bushes thing was nervs idea anyways, blame him.

increases to 895 per year as of nov 1st.

if you pay before nov 1st it will still cost 725 for the year.

That's for all models, right?

Wow, that hurts.

Could have been worse.

Still good value for money I reckon.

indeed, you did well in your trial run in it too, managed to pull 2 birds, annoy half the population of the town of chertsy, 4 wheel drift said rangie more than once and had 2 of the days 3 attempts at trying to scare that bloke of his ladder.

I think that was a result by anyones standards.

I had an audi A4 quattro avant before my 996. Audi dealership tried to charge be £1500 for their warranty. OPC warranty seems like a good deal to me!

I agree totally. £900 a year (£20 a week) is cheap for the cover you get, specially if you think it covers 996 Turbos and GT3s which have engines costing £40k!

my local OPC called me back and agreed to let me have the warranty this week for the lower price...only downside (or upside) is that they want to carry out a shifter recall my car has missed beforehand. Anyone else also had one of their air vents loose a bit of platic and a pin that holds it in place (its the bit that enables the vent to distribute air from left to right)...dealer said it was the second they'd seen...looks a messy job to me to fix.
