ok, sorry, perhaps being harsh. but one of them is gorgeous fat-arsed sensuously-lined bootylicious porsche and the other has a backside like one of those hairdryers you see in the gents at heathrow.

and believe me, i know my hairdryers

When anyone mentions an Audi R8 I automatically think of this:

Imagine replacing your 911 with that! eek

The idea of a Porsche being the understated choice compared to an Audi makes me hehe a little!

Well I've had a deposit down for 12-18 months now, and am really unsure what to do.

Porsche C4S
+ It's a 911 !
+ some semblence of practicality with 4 seats
+ understated
+ reliable, cheap to service
- lots around
- is it really special any more?

? residual values

Audi R8
+ performance (with V10)
+ looks
+ quality
+ uniqueness
? residuals
? handling etc
- hardly subtle
- 2-seater

If you're getting an early one IMO it's a no brainer. I'm getting the first at my dealer so I'll take it - if I don't get on with it it'll go for list at four to six months (very limited no's coming to UK in first year) and hey presto a few months 'free' motoring and nothing lost. Did the same with my AMV8.Agree with comments re. back end though. Going to the 'do' tonight so will get a better idea then.
