Wheel spacers on a 3.2 Carrera...?
Discussion
Has anyone some experience with wheel spacers on a 3.2 Carrera to share with me?
Or to start from the beginning - my 3.2 (1988 sport equipment, not turbo look) has been lowered slightly by a previous owner, with everything else left original. As a result, the wheels, especially at the rear look a bit like they were hiding under the wheel arches, maybe two inches in relative to where the actual wheel arch is (apologies for the poor description rather than a simple photo, but...)
I was wondering whether maybe wheel spacers might help optically. Do they affect driveability or safety? What would the cost for a set of four be, and which ones would you recommend, if any?
Many thanks for help on an admittedly purely cosmetical aspect, but then again...

Hi there, I used porscheshop 25mm spacers on my rear (7's) to give them that 9's look (I also have 7's up front) - Looks fine and there's no issue with performace/stability at all as far as I have experienced.
I'm on the look out for some "reasonably prices" original 9's, I've found one and need to find another
Regards.

looks spot on mate.......classic but aggresive
Thanks
Though yours looks pretty damned good too. You don't see many older Turbo Cabs about, and certainly not in that condition.
Cheers mate
i'll take the advise on the hood also, bit disappointed with it to say the least.
There coming to collect Tuesday so got a bit of time. (Hair drier and extention lead required!)

Slim bodied cars are just a bit more slippery at tall speeds.
Coming back from Swindon 18 months ago I filtered onto the M4 and a white 965 LHD came up behind me.
I thought go on son, and let him slip past me, you can sweep the road ahead if you insist.
We both wound it up, his was a widebody.
110, 120, 130,140 now Im beginning to sweat a bit. Ive got my eyes on the road, and you know the speedo situation visibility Im sure, can't see the long end of the needle past 70, but you can see the stump of the other end.
Flat six Porsche sound, what a noise.
Up at 150 + it was flying, no shakes or rattles. He never left me.
We made Heathrow in 25 mins !
This was about 130 am on a sunday night/monday morning.
We were passing lorries that were going 50MPH, 100MPH faster than them.
Imagine what that looked like from the cab ?
At those kinds of speeds I am just looking half a mile ahead, because as soon as you blink, you're there !
B, they look like Potenzas or Avon zzr's on the back of your 3.2
What a beautiful car.
I had zzr's fitted, what a nice tyre, lovely compound.
No spoiler does keep the non sport look.
Thank you for your compliments.

Not if you twist it round so 150-160 are in the sight line
Yep, the last car i surprised was a 996C4! If you get a sound engine that has been well chipped thay go phenomenally well. Mine now does a genuine 162mph!
The tyres are Goodyear Eagle F1s... bloody superb they are

A colleague at work has a 3.2 and was on about getting chipped, what do you recommend?
How much roughly and who does it?
What BHP over the standard are you gaining?
