Its £895 to renew.

If you let the old warranty lapse, you have to pay for a 111 (?) point inspection and all being well you pay the £895. The inspection is a couple of hundred.

Cheers

Ajit.

in a nutshell - renew the warranty before it runs out - it'll be a selling point come resale!

If its from an OPC you will receive an additional years warranty included starting from March 07 as Approved Used Cars must be supplied with a minimum of 12 Months warranty.

and me.

Judging by most people's enquiries it's worth about £20k.

Nobody seems bothered about the warranty, then again most have never heard of RMS.

Aren't they just chancers trying to get a bargin?

£20k will get you a 100k no-history 996 - but because some people see those in autotrader they try and get a good example at that sort of price!

Decemeber is always a hard time to do anything (sell cars/find jobs etc) but your car is in great condition, FPSH, warranty, just stick it out till you get someone who knows what there looking for..

Yep, I know, and I don't need to sell it anymore, so I'm not in a hurry.

What amazes me is the warranty part, it was a big plus for me, nobody else seems to care about it.

No, i'm with you there - i'd say that was one of the main reasons I went for mine... it's that peace of mind.

As I mentioned above, I think for a clued-up buyer, it will be a bonus for them..

I couldnt help browsing through this post as I'm starting to look at potentially becoming a Porsche owner.

Magic Torch, your car is exactly what I am looking for and it is partly because it has , and Im sure I must speak for other potentail future owners, a warranty which is vital as I would be putting my balls on the line with finance etc so wouldnt want any scary bills. Its also got a GT3 kit and all the bits I would want doing (suspension, exhaust etc..). I have not seen that colour interior before though, it looks ok and lets face it nothing could be as bad (or impractiacal) as Savannah

Just as a side note for you shollis, I recently saw Jamie's car in the flesh - and it really is 'mint' - it was in superb nick (and bear in mind this is coming from someone who had recently spent 6 months shopping for a 996).

It's certainly worth a look - and as we discussed above - the Extended Warranty really is worth it!

Oh, and just read this topic: www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?p=1&f=48&t=332089&h=0

to why you should always buy a car with a warranty...
(or at the very least, after getting the £200 111-point inspection, THEN shell out the £900 for the warranty)

I will second that. The car is bloody fantastic, strong as an ox and one of the best spec'd 996's i have come across.

We went on holiday earlier in the year and needless to say I came back with a serious dose of spoiler envy!

Cheers. When I sold my business at the end of last year, I decided to realise a dream and own a 911. I spent four months looking at them before getting mine, it was the best by far. As you say, it's got all the main bits (aero kit, exhaust, suspension, etc), it had a warranty which I've subsequently renewed. It also had a fastidious owner.

It's been everything I expected and more, and even managed to make me happier than my Integrale...

Would do you a good deal if it was going to a good home. It's one car I'd happily sell to a friend (although I'd then be very jealous of them).

Why do you want to sell it?
