Much as I hate to say it players could buy speed cameras and then other players pay fines accordingly if they land on the square.....

I'm having loads of ideas for a full game... Are we forming a toy company here?

Well - are you sure you want to stick at the IT buisness?

I'm sure a group of us together part-time could probably design, make, market and sell a game... waddayareckon?

And seriously for a second - the road safety game gets around the licensing laws as long as we dont use the Gatso brand...
yes as long as it's ironic it would be a huge seller.....

I can multitask, IT and toys, no problemo

Yeah - i reckon we could be onto something. I know jamie said you can buy blank monopoly boards - but i guess we need to look into the deal of using their format...

I think were onto something (im sure i can find time at weekends/evenings for this you know!)

I think your right, it should be ironic, or suggest the aim is to try and beat the system!...

Houses = Gasto?
Hotels = camera vans?

maybe call it the Rat Run or something? (drawn picture of a car locking up past a camera on the box cover?)

You're serious aren't you?

Well, as a nipper I used to get bored with board games, and I'd make up my own, using the backs of boards games I already had. A long time ago now, but we had a large family and we all enjoyed playing my games more than the commercial ones. I suspect a lot of that creativity has been beaten out of me by life, but who knows! You'd have to go some to get something into the shops for this Christmas though!

You'd have to be careful to avoid the monopoly format.

I'd be up for this, got pretty much bugger all else to do until Feb.

yeah, speaking with Rob 'offline' I said the reason i would aim for the monopoly format is because its a 'known game', so people would buy...

Starting from scratch is a lot harder - just from a marketing perspective - BUT it avoids the licensing issues...

I think its a good idea, and cant see why we couldnt get something off the ground - worst case its a novelty gift at christmas next year...

Whilst not wishing to piss on anyones chips, I am pretty sure this has already been done, and it may even be called the rat run.........

just something to check before you place it before the dragons (oh and make sure your prototype works of course)

nope - no rat run: www.educationallearninggames.com/educational-games-site-map.asp

I do need to go through and look for anything with a similar format though!

Edited to add: I have no intention of going on dragons den to pitch this (unless the others just want to be on Telly!), It shouldnt cost that much to get to a prototype stage where we can do proper pitches to the right people...

I'm saying no more than that, as im beginning to take it seriously..

What about those games such as Destination London!, etc.

Met the woman who 'invented' those, if she can do it...

After reading this thread my mind started spinning with ideas....

Hows about we call it AUTOPOLY scratchchin

And instead of just having a square board with 40 (i think) sites, we could make it a city with junctions, streets, car parks (for doing doughnuts), etc etc use your imagination!!
