Ruf CTR VS Bugatti Veyron

The NSX is not quick enough or pretty enough or competent enough...I have never sat in or driven an NSX.
The CGT looks too much like a Boxter and with a MK1 Boxter dashboard assembly on a £325,000 Porsche makes it a pretty crap place to be sitting in front of.
The Zonda never driven but it does have great appeal.
The Maca F1 I would love to own or even get to drive
The F40 is way to basic and the power delivery is to much like hard work.
I don't like cars that do it all for you.
Veyron is a very easy car to drive.
What it does do is allow you the driver to concentrate on placing the car on the road ...without having to concern yourself that it might light all four wheel up and spit you into the nearest oak tree.
Veyron... Don't knock it unless you've tried it.

so to summarise if i may ; you dont like the nsx and havent driven it, you dont like the cgt or f40 and have, you do like the F1 and Zonda and havent driven them and you do like hairy arsed cars that dont do it all for you, finally you have driven and do like the Veyron which kindly allows you to steer but no one else can knock it because we havent driven it.
the one thing i LOVE about the veyron is that it exists in all its utter pointlessness and that some people have bought it. i'll take a 964rs, 993GT2, an f40, a CGT and a sh1t load of change, but thats a whole other thread.

I’m sorry to see that we can’t appreciate seriously wonderful cars without invoking some of the bigoted negativity found in this thread.
???
We're just having light-hearted (if sometimes heavy-handed) banter here.
Is it okay to have opinions and personal preferences? I thought that was why we're here.

I did once ‘race’ an NSX to Venice and back and in the company of 959, F40 and others and it got a bit breathless and I couldn’t stay with them (As someone pointed out, up to 120, all was OK; after that, the senior super cars just keep hammering into the distance.)
I don't think that that is a problem for most of us most of the time.
I'm a lot more interested in how a road car feels up to 120 than I am in how it feels above 120.
Cheers.

This thread has the potential to become the one with the highest number of posts and this with a handful of contributors...
Don't stop, this is very entertaining
Don't stop, this is very entertaining
I would have said the opposite.
What I have to say must certainly be predictable, and, if I may say so, mr bridger hasn't been quite as innovative as Dr Piech (or would it be Gordon Murray?) in his comments either.
I like chocolate and vanilla. Other folks prefer the more flamboyant stuff. Probably best to leave it at that, and go on to a new and different topic.
Such as Ferrari bashing!!!!!!
mr bridger,
I tried to put you and myself together in the predictability/lack-of-conceptual-innovation stakes regarding this particular topic.
You must admit, it's pretty plain by now what we each think about this. That's why I question whether there is any purpose to further discussion - at least by the two of us.
I'm always happy to offer my opinion (to date, I seem to be about 4,000 PH posts ahead of you ), although I admit that probably most if not all of the time I add nothing of value to a conversation.
993 - I have and hold to the end, other's opinions. And agree with them a lot of the time. What I find galling is the willingness of others to do down something other and something different, but up there on the same plane.
This board is like like sharing the road with white van man.
I raced a 993 RSR a few times too. Now that was a tactile experience.

pps/ what about rum & raisin?
No probs, as long as you take out the rum pollution and the raisin litter, and leave just the good old ice cream.
Not that this is OT (Hello, Adam, how's your beautiful Yellowbird?)...
Is "weight watchers" a formal organisation, or do you mean in the general sense?

..the general sense i suppose in this instance, but its too late now, you"ve lost the element of suprise by asking for clarification....[/quote] I'm not an "element of surprise" kind of guy. Prefer dealing straight up.
