By the way Jeremy, that RS2 looks a bit good.
Thanks. I'll have to bring it to one of the Ace meets sometime - an honorary Porker estate.

I don't know about honorary, IIRC they were built at the factory in Zuffenhausen, that makes them Pork !
Easily the best colour for one.
Try and make March, I'd love to see it and I can't make Feb, I'm in Frankfurt that weekend, at a Pig clinic !
[Nothing to do with Pork as we know it though ]
Check out this months Evo (issue 101) for more pictures.

I've seen pictures of yellow, red, green, white and black Yellowbirds.

They have done about as many conversion Yellowbirds as originals and I believe will still do one today if you ask......

there's the yellow one in Guernsey at a so called advertised misprint at £80K but should have read £90K and another yellow, yellow bird for sale at £100K in Bromley, Kent. IMHO £60K would be a far more realistic price. It is an awesome piece of kit but I just do not see it as a six figure car.

Hmmm...is this the red CTR that was advertised on RUF's own website sometime in '05 ?

Didnt know there was a yellowbird in kent, not spotted one around. I do know the only speed yellow 964 Turbo S lwt is in Kent or at least East Sussex.

I had the following response from RUF Germany this morning.

thank you for your e-mail. Yes, the CTR was build in various colours, also in guards red. Only some of the car were painted in yellow.

All the best!

So it seems the yellobird was available in any colour.

But you all knew that anyway.

If I were buying this viper, what are the interesting bits I need to look for.
The special stuff generic to this yellowbird, not general.

Think Roock had a dark green CTR up for sale about 6mnths ago for @85,000euros

Really - seems cheap - any idea of when it sold?

A swedish company had one for sale - ex France blue - sold recently but had been (turbo) rebodied etc...Adam knows more about that car. There's a yellow one in Guernsey for £90k and a green one at a dealers in the UK for about the same - I think it's the car pictured in this thread.

This car seems good value - presumably if RUF confirm its bona fides, the lack of a RUF VIN shouldn't detract from what it is?...if he drops it to £50k I'll buy it yes

Sorry chaps, just dug out the Ad for the green Roock CTR - was actually up for sale for 95,000 euros... Was sold late last summer I think.

I know where thereis an Amethyst coloured Ruf CTR in Europe, it may still be available. It was completely standard and De-badged to look stealthed. It was over a 100 Euro when I was offered it.drink

I purchased a Guards Red CTR from the first owner who was French it was non VIN built from an 89 Carrera. It had all the bits on apart from the gutters weren't shaved.
It had carbon wings, doors and bonnet and weighed (with half a tank)1226kg despite the selling French Ruf dealer claiming 1060kg !. The adjustable boost knob varied the boost from 0.8bar up to 1.2bar. The word from the factory was that at 1.2bar heat soak would limit the power. It was sold for me by a dealer in the UK for £38K in '99.
Personally I wouldn't get hung up on VIN/non VIN since the non VIN were still fully stripped and went through the same conversion -the file of bills which came with the car were pretty scary....

They are great if not iconic cars, I know the owner of one of the cars for sale on this thread and it doesn't sound like too much fun to own.....not exactly a great track day car, these cars may be fast but they are more suited to sweeping autobahn than chucking it into paddock and stamping on the anchor at druids.....was tempted but makes sense to pass.

I drove the green car when Pulicino first imported it and then again when it was at RUF UK, in those days it existed!!!

My old white 993 Turbo with some Ruf bits on it, that CTR and Alois brought over a CTR2 (yellow one) for the Highclear show, think it was about 1998???

Green car was fast fun, but really needed lots and lots of space, had a very strange pattern on the seats at that time I seem to remember?

Yeah that's it.... very 'German'.... (said in a non racist, politically correct way!!!)

Back then it was sold for £35k..... but there was also a LHD RUF Turbo R 993 GT2 (530hp and the RUF cage) that was sold by it's owner for £65k with 7000kms on it... I nearly bought it, but decided against it as my GT3 was about to be delivered.... oh we live and learn...
