supermono - You will miss the grunt of the 996tt - but you will enjoy the race car feel of the CSL.

Chalk and cheese as they say.

Put it this way - You are more likely to lose control of a CSL than you are a 996tt - and also you can have real fun with the handling of a CSL.

You will not be able to traverse the country as fast in the CSL as you can in a 996tt - but you might have more fun doing it.

Thanks. What I thought I guess. How about compared with the GT3?

Now you are talking - To be honest my GT3 I think is nearly as quick as my 996tt used to be - it is just that it delivers the power in a different manner.

The 996tt X50 delivers a big gob-full of Torque and is tricky to balance on bends when you are hooning about. The GT3 power delivery has a much more progressive/linear feel to it - and when wound up is extremely powerful.

Not the GT3's natural stamping ground but I would have thought it would perform quite well against a 996tt on a runway/drag strip.

The beauty of the 997 GT3 to me, is that it has all the excellent attributes of the CSL - racecar feel, responsiveness, noise and pace... matched with a large percentage of the 996tt raw grunt.

Also, it is unbelievably fast through the gears... I think my car does over 80mph in second gear and something like 125+ in 3rd - it is the eagerness that the engine wants to accelerate that I am really impressed with.

A message in your ear Diesel130. I brought my C4S without a thought at buying a turbo. When your spending around £40000 to 45000 on a porsche an extra 20% for a turbo really would'nt be a problem to most.

Isn't it funny. The 911 owners who in general are so quick in calling Boxster and Cayman the cars for people how cannot affort a proper 911 get soooo touchy when a similar deficit is assumed on their end...

must admit that the C4S is the best looking 996 IMHO

why on earth would I want to go any faster then the C4S. I've never driven a turbo so I can not comment on it's power. At least on sunday morning car washing duty I don't have to clear dead birds out the air inlets
