As for Manual/Tiptronic. If I was to make a choice now it would be manual,

lol, agreed, but I mostly just use weekends (long country runs) and I am doing a load of track work this year and think the manual will be a bit more suited for this!

But I also agree with Chillerman, THE TIP CAN ROCK!

Hi m8

Sorry, my car is a Saleen Mustang, more info on it in the Mustang section on this forum. Its great fun but she has 510Lb-Ft torque with over 400Lb-Ft at 2000rpm and as its RWD with no traction control she can get quite lively especially on our roads and in this weather.

If I get a Porsche it will be my daily driver. Also can you tell me any more about the ECU programming as to what the gains are, who offers it and how much it is roughly. Are there any tuners who modify the tiptronics to change faster or is that left as standard on all cars?

Stevo - any comment on this?

truly impressive figures! What confuses me is that someone on here in the tuning trade (ie far more knowledgeable than me) mentioned that tip put a limit on safe power maximums, think 500bhp was mentioned

Did anyone raise this issue with you or have you strengthened the gearbox?

Nope, good for way more than that I can assure you!

Sharky in the States was running nearer 700bhp with stock Tip Box. I know that he has tuned a couple of Tips GT640's (I will clarify this and ask if he has had any comeback issues with the Tip running big power)

I personally don't think I will be exceeding much more power myself anyway, they say the motor is good for 600brake without Internal upgrades, after this you will be putting stress on the Butter Rods. I am having discussions at the moment for Internal upgrades, but this is really peace of mind and don't want to risk it!

Hi Adam, received email from Sharky overnight, he tells me 700 max, he has done a few of these now and had no issues. I also noticed that you can upgrade the torque convertor, I actually think the convertor would be the main issue and likely to cause problems running big power and not the Tip Box.

As I said before, There is only a certain level I will go to, and I'm going nowhere near these figures.
